Well im a huge Star Wars geek, not as bad as i used to be in my teens as id watch Star Wars every day on my old betamax video player, i got a huge collection of statues, models, lego, posters and such, but not a big of collection as The Rebel Scum Dwookie , im also a bit of a gundam geek and monster hunter geek, i just meet a new friend ( a girl, we'll take it slow ) and she said LOL, i called you a huge 44 year old geek but you already know that. And still a video game geek and always will be, wonder if my mother knew what she was fueling when she gave me a pong console for my birthday, course those where the total geek days when gaming was seen for nutters and no social skills people. God Bless Gaming or i'd be even more of a fruit cake than ialready am.

I like Sony, Uma Thurman, shoes, coats, watches, and well lots of stuff really. I don't consider myself a geek though. I socialise a lot, probably too much infact.

I don't really like TV, so when I'm at home I play games instead of watching TV. Games that I largely cannot understand, and that nobody else likes.

I don't really know how geeks are defined nowadays TBH. Maybe 30-year-old marathon World of Warcraft playing virgins who live with their nans or something?
      Kept you waiting, huh?

And Facebook now owns Instagram, Pikate, unless you've nestled into an Apple-tainted cocoon and missed that news.
I know But given that app only launched on Android (I think it was Android?) last week it's safe to say the $Billion Facebook paid for it is mostly down to it's popularity as an iPhone-exclusive so it did help sell some iPhones.

        I meant in value...

Apple has surpassed oil group Exxon to become the world's most valuable company by market capitalisation

I think 'geek' is probably just being slightly obsessive about something to a point where a sizable chunk of your time and money is dedicated to it? (i.e. "Sci-Fi Geek", "Computer Nerd", "Audiophile" , "Fashionista", "Foodie", "Booze Hound","Petrolhead" we're all flavours of the same dish...)

My dad likes watches though that gets crazy expensive, he has a dutch one that also shows the alignment for each of the planets and was so expensive (won't tell anyone how much) that he also had a dedicated watch safe for it/his others built-in behind the mirror in his en-suite. I don't get the watch thing he bought me a white Chanel "J12" a few years back that looks pricey but to be honest I prefer a cheap Swatch I got on-sale at the airport.

Food Geek. If your eating rubbish I'll tell you what is in it. One guy at work was eating a Heart Haribo and I told him its ground up, sugared animal cartilage coloured with insect scales* (*Food Colouring Crimson Red).

I try my best to eat healthy and not put any crap in my system (or my Children for that matter). Cook from scratch 90% of the time and try buy local where I can. I also try and eat what the seasons offer up where possible. Also turned our drinking water into alkaline Water.

Not going to stop the kids from buying sweets though as I did it when I was little, but whilst I have control of their diets and they are not old enough to go out on their own I'll give them the best start I can (food wise).
