Playing about with my Commodore 1081 again. This time I've plastered some AS5 on the IC in question as I believe it may just be due to it overheating judging by how new the caps look. At least, not bulging or leaking.

However, I've clearly plugged something in incorrectly as the screen is a fixed green. lol

Gonna leave it on for a few hours now. I'll investigate the green if the image holds. If not it's going in the bin.

EDIT: It's been on in the blazing sun for an hour now. Think I may have fixed it.

A CHINESE technician has been caught watching porn at work -when he accidentally broadcast an X-rated film on a giant outdoor screen near a busy railway station.

Without realising his computer was plugged into the LED screen he was servicing, Yuan Mou mistakenly beamed scenes from Xin Jin Ping Mei (The Forbidden Legend of Sex and Chopsticks) to hundreds of surprised onlookers outside a railway station in Jilin city, according to the South China Morning Post.

The raunchy film reportedly aired for 10 minutes before Yuan received a phone call from the owners of the screen, which is usually used to air advertisements.

Yuan had switched the screen off and discarded the Xin Jin Ping Mei disc by the time police arrived to investigate.

Arguing with a manager at work. This is pleasurable for the following reasons:

        1. I love a good fight.
        2. My arguments are always backed up with facts and/or evidence.
        3. Theirs are not, and usually consist of statements beginning with "as your manager".
        4. I can destroy their counter-arguments within seconds.
        5. They often have no recourse to further action and have to walk away from the argument, frustrated.

This place. In a world containing quite a lot of muppets, many of whom play video games, this place is consistently a pleasure to participate in.

No idea how it has been able to stay this way, but a big pat on the back people! (Same goes for its esteemed predecessor...)

There is a sort of "getting it" characteristic around here that we seem to share, can't put my finger on it. Weird but great.

Graduation ceremony today. 29?C and sweating like a pig under the robes and mortar board but some cause for optimism as many of my classmates have jobs already and I got better marks. Can't wait to finally get out of retail.

Thanks! Twelve years of it now. I just want weekends off to spend with my wife and an employer that doesn't treat me like I'm a naughty schoolchild.

Surprisingly few people did today. After sitting in that heat with a mortar board on, I just wanted to be at home with a cold drink and a book.

Me neither. Once I finished I didn't even want to look at a university. In hindsight maybe I should've gone but most of my friends had graduated the year before.

Celebrity deaths seem to get loads of news coverage, but I was really moved by the life story of Elizabeth Braund who died last month.

With no prior training or experience with social issues, she started a Sunday School converting a near derelict chapel as best as she could. From this grew women's meetings, a youth club, sports fixtures, help for the homeless and trips to Wales.

Having established Providence House it became clear to Elizabeth that city children had little or no opportunity to appreciate country life.

With no farming experience she developed what was to become known as "a lung for the city". Elizabeth bought a farm on Dartmoor and started a "city to farm" scheme in 1976, which still endures.

Hundreds of children have visited the farm over the years and it's nice to see somebody who dedicated their lives to helping others.
