I was a little concerned about how the CVT gearbox would be coming straight from the DSG (which is considered to be the best) but it's been ok so far, the default setting feels like it has a little lag when you out you foot done, but when you are in Sport mode it's super close in terms of responsiveness.
It's really weird not hearing a shift or seeing the revs drop as the clutch kicks in.
As it's taken like 10 months to come I've had plenty of time to make sure it was right for me as I could have cancelled it, fortunately the positive reviews and awards have just solidified that I've made the right ch

How about a VW CC, formerly Passat CC, as a daily driver. Usually pretty well specced, easy on the eyes and spacious. Maybe not the last word in handling but more fun than you might expect given its repmobile underpinnings. 2.0 170bhp diesel gives you a reasonable combintaion of economy to poke.
