I hate games that have online join mode switch to ON as default. First time playing Dead Island I was like "Who the hell is this guy?" "Why is he in my game in story mode?" Took me about 10 minutes to figure out people can join in your game at any point. I DON'T WANT THAT!. That's why I play story / campaign mode before any online modes.
Amen to that. If people want to expose their entire life on the internet, be my guest, but just leave me out of it.

Lol grumpy old sods, its for me a nice way of keeping up to date with friends that are scattered all over the globe, it's cool to see what my friends are up to in Canada or London or wherever, and its nice to see what family is doing that lives further afield. Yes you get the odd idiot that posts endless memes or chain post spam but this can all be filtered out, like a games forum read what you want skip the rest.

Facebook haters on here have a rather pathetic view on how to use the site. If you have people that post about sandwiches or when they are taking a dump etc, you have **** friends.

Yeah, it's almost like...exactly what you're doing right here on this website. (Cavalcade beat me to it)

No, it's not a requirement to be on Facebook. Just say no, I'm not on it, but here's my number. Or if you're really worried about looking like a luddite, say 'I have it but I don't use it, here's my email address'.

No one is going to care whether you're on Facebook or not.

Why do those who aren't on social media 'hate' it with such venom? I don't either, but I'm ambivalent to it. I'm always hearing this ranting from real life friends about how Twitter is pointless unless you're a celebrity, blah blah blah, people posting pictures of the sandwiches and updates about doing their shopping.

Social networks are just ways of sharing information of all types. You can do anything with that.

Ok, I think I'm going to stealth it into the world of facebook to see what I'm missing.

            Need a username.

            I'm thinking 'Solid Snake'.

I didn't know you were such a Meldrew, Yakumo!

I'm surprised if you allow people to post on your YouTube videos.

In fact, me replying to your post in this thread has probably upset you!

I use Facebook to keep up with friends I don't see regularly, post silly pictures and make crap jokes.

If someone posts too many rubbish game links or motivational poems, I either block the alert or hide their posts altogether. Peace is then resumed.

I also like to Photoshop friends' photos...

A friend of mine updated his profile pic, but it had a creepy hand resting on his shoulder (from someone out of view). I offered to "fix" it in photoshop.... Pretty successful I think.

                  Away mission facebook has begun.

Finding out more information than I wanted to know about life forms I thought I was familiarly with. Further investigation needed.

                  Kirk out.
