Lol grumpy old sods, its for me a nice way of keeping up to date with friends that are scattered all over the globe, it's cool to see what my friends are up to in Canada or London or wherever, and its nice to see what family is doing that lives further afield. Yes you get the odd idiot that posts endless memes or chain post spam but this can all be filtered out, like a games forum read what you want skip the rest.

No, it's not a requirement to be on Facebook. Just say no, I'm not on it, but here's my number. Or if you're really worried about looking like a luddite, say 'I have it but I don't use it, here's my email address'.
No one is going to care whether you're on Facebook or not.
Why do those who aren't on social media 'hate' it with such venom? I don't either, but I'm ambivalent to it. I'm always hearing this ranting from real life friends about how Twitter is pointless unless you're a celebrity, blah blah blah, people posting pictures of the sandwiches and updates about doing their shopping.
Social networks are just ways of sharing information of all types. You can do anything with that.Last edited by wakka; 28-05-2013, 11:07.

I didn't know you were such a Meldrew, Yakumo!
I'm surprised if you allow people to post on your YouTube videos.
In fact, me replying to your post in this thread has probably upset you!
I use Facebook to keep up with friends I don't see regularly, post silly pictures and make crap jokes.
If someone posts too many rubbish game links or motivational poems, I either block the alert or hide their posts altogether. Peace is then resumed.
I also like to Photoshop friends' photos...
