I have a W7 laptop and a Macbook Pro (for work), and I'm slowly liking the Mac more, even though I'd barely used one prior to starting my new job in mid 2012. The sleep mode is excellent, so I can just open it, and immediately do stuff. Yes, there's things I can only do on the W7 laptop because of the inherent program architecture and programs I'm using (I refuse to say "apps" unless it's on a mobile device!), but the Mac is gradually warming on me. Even though I have to hit sodding Alt 3 to get # symbol

Mavericks has made my MacBook feel like a windows laptop.

It's my fault because it's an old machine(2Ghz C2D, 4GB ram) but I needed Lion to jailbreak my iphone, apparently.

I'll have to do a snow leopard reinstall when I have the time and then post in the smiles thread about how lovely and smooth a clean install is

I'm on a 2GHz C2D with 4GB. Still runs like a dream compared to any Windows machine I use and I didn't notice Mavericks make any performance difference. I do have an SSD though.

I have the latest firmware, net connection is fine. Has the Wii Shop been pulled or something?

The online gaming of the DS/DSi/Wii is being shutdown in May but the shops should be fine. I've still not bought Zombies Ate My Neighbours yet!!

Went down to the basement before leaving for work today. The dodgy little room was unlocked so I looked inside...It has been setup like a bedroom with a desk and chairs, and even a Disney Princess cushion. A panel at the back had been removed and duffle bags had been stashed in there.

I'll look into it but it chugs more than the little engine that could. And the hard drive noise isn't the dodgy kind(repeated patterns) to suggest a physical issue.

But mavericks runs like my virtual box XP did in snow leopard. And that XP running in mavericks is... You get the idea.

My laziness means I'm more likely to find a solution than do a reinstall
