Isn't the obvious flaw in these diets that we live waaaaaay longer than people who lived in primal or paleo times? I've met a healthy vegan. I've met a healthy vegan with a healthy son who is about six and a half feet tall and built like an ox and he's been vegan all his life. Not sure how that happened actually. Guessing some substances or supplements must be used to make up for what's missing.
Anyway, I'm taking the day off. Because I can.

Proper "healthy" fat, not that hydrogenated industrial sludge they put in a lot of processed food. That stuff will kill you. But the misconception these days is that you need to cut out all forms of fat in order to be healthy, when actually you're doing yourself a disservice. I've never met a vegan who didn't look ill and on the verge of death.
I am aware of people cutting out all fats thinking they are being healthily. A friend won't eat avocado because it is 'fatty', I tried to tell him it is a good fat but He will not listen. Personally I go for more nuts and seeds, cooking oils, olives etc over dairy for my fats.
I have 3 vegans in my family and all look super healthy and are super fit.
However you get it as long as you get it right?Last edited by 'Press Start'; 12-11-2014, 13:44.

I suppose it's not really a little thing, but the ESA Rosetta's Philae lander has successfully touched down on the surface of comet 67P! I've been following it on twitter and the live ESA video stream while massively slacking off working, it was really exciting waiting for the signal to arrive! I love that humans can do things like this
Can't wait to see photos from the surface.

Caught it from midday onwards, staggering achievement. It doesn't feel like it's had the media impact it deserves as once you factor in the years of flight and calculations on top of the size of accomplishment achieved its something that's up there with the moon landing. One of those increasingly rare days that reminds you of what mankind can accomplish when it isn't busy being a div.

A shot taken by the lander a few seconds before it touched down:

It turns out they didn't just do one comet landing today, they did three! Magnetic field analysis revealed that the initial landing was at 15:33, it bounced up off the surface and landed again at 17:26, then one more smaller bounce before landing for good at 17:33.
Some harpoons which were supposed to fire when it landed and anchor it to the surface malfunctioned and failed to go off. Could have caused a disaster but thankfully it made it and the data now shows the lander is stable on the comet's surface.
