After the whole Ghostbusters phase and with me getting slowly older my Mum reached a point where she regretted throwing out all my old toys after each phase ended. The next was roughly my last franchise fad which was, as it was then, Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles. Still to this day, stored safely in the loft of my parents house after lesson was learnt is these:

But if I had a consistant type of toy I loved it was toy cars. Two types typically, the first was Matchbox cars, Hot Wheels designs were often too daft or garish for my liking so I only had a couple but Matchbox's always fit well and played well into any playtime as so many were identifiable for what you imagined them as.

The other was Micro Machines, loved these. Could have done with a few more variants but loved the look and idea, even the ones with a super tiny one inside

Thankfully, all my toy cars are still in the loft too. Any future kids can play with them too as they're not quite as common a toy these days but still rock.

    Then there's the toys I didn't own...

Those micro machine mini playsets were sweet.

I remember the day I was out with my dad and the Woolworths in Penarth was putting those TMHT toys out on the shelf. Suffice to say, we got one for me and one for my brother.

LEGO was a huge fave, I even made my own design mini robot (which I will provide the instructions for building if someone can give me an online tool to do so).

          Key Cars... awesome.

And Hot Wheels Crack Ups (I seem to remember these as Smash Ups but the internet tells me I'm wrong...).

Not as much trouble as when we made it snow on my brothers train set though, my mum and dad had spent ages putting a Hornby trainset on a board for us with little stations and hills tunnels bridges and trees and all sorts of other little details, it was a really nice set till we made it snow with talc on it. this didnt quite work so then tried to wash the talc off with water completely ruining the track and nearly electrocuting ourselves in the process.

              Speed Burners:

Also occasionally seen in dia cast metal format. A kid at school had one but I could never find anywhere selling those ones. Used to get mine from Asda.

              Space 1999:

And the worst xmas present I ever asked for. A totally wasted xmas. It still upsets me even now that I asked for this:

I used to love Rough Riders 4X4. I had a K.I.T.T. but they had A-Team ones too:

I also had a Dukes of Hazzard Wrist Racer:

seeing that wrist racer remind me of another Wearable toy Ring raiders!!! Fnar Fnar

A comic, a cartoon and all sorts of promotion couldn't save these things from essentially being rings for boys and therefore forever remembered as, being in the words of an 8 year old"well ghey" i remember seeing the add and taking the piss out of it as a kid.

It's an ace thread, well done, Superman Falls!

I seemed to have a fair bit of Dukes of Hazzard stuff, now I think about it!

                        I had a Finger Racer:

                        and a Barnbusters playset:

                          Burnin' Key Cars! Awesome.

Barnbusters was incredible. I also had a Knight Rider version. The cars could do side wheelies and everything.

Wrist Racers. I forgot what they were called. I had the General Lee one. I had KITT and The A-Team van in Rough Riders 4x4.

Did anyone else have a Starbird? Awesome space ship toy, which made sounds when you tilted it up or down, and had a fake R2-D2 in the back.

It's funny you should say that as I recently acquired the "Ring Raiders" DVD, but I'm pretty sure the content is different...
