Or you should be extremely worried that he was convicted without "beyond reasonable doubt" being proved so that a few people could get some cash. The slightest mention of peado sends people into a frenzy. What if the jury were unable to remain unbiased.

I know very well what Libertarianism stands for, after all I did study political science (and Wikipedia is written mostly by amateurs and isn't a reliable source).

I agree that some people will use these trials for personal gain (look at John Leslie for instance) but I'm sure they must have a good bit of genuine evidence or that witnesses mentioned that he carried out his acts in a very precise but similar way before taking the trial further

I liked the article, because it made a change from the majority of the reporting on the story.
Even looking at the BBC's coverage of the sentencing is far from objective, peppered throughout with quotes from the victims as facts, rather than their take on events that happened decades ago when they were just children.

The judge has ruled that Harris will pay court fees but not compensation to the victims, so the Libertarian View loses some of its validity, but I particularly liked that he bookended his article by saying:

I do not know if Rolf Harris committed the crimes he was accused of.

I really don?t know (and nor do you!) whether Rolf Harris is an evil paedophile monster or an 84 year old national treasure who has been ruined by greedy/malicious opportunists.

The nation loves to build people up and knock them down and loves a good scandal. Jimmy Saville's death before being exposed as the predator he was means that we're looking for a living celebrity to grab the pitchforks and flaming torches to take down and Harris ticks all those boxes. The press are having a field day with sensationalist coverage of the story.

Besides, we're all forgetting the scientific facts:

Paedophiles have more genes in common with crabs than they do with you and me.
Now that is scientific fact?there's no real evidence for it?but it is scientific fact.
