      Lettings agents again

Letting agent demands my girlfriend goes on the tenancy agreement even though she isn't moving at the same time as me as I am relocating across the country and she will join me at a later date.
Charges an additional ?60 to put her on.

Then sends me the forms to fill in which demand she is present when we move in.

Here's something that irks me (not a dig at you personally):

        kotaku "uk".

Now, when you visit Kotaku in the uk you get funnelled to the UK site. It's great in theory as it mirrors all the USA content and has UK-centric stuff too.

In practice, though, I read blogs as much for the news as the comments, and judging by the lack of comments I've seen on the UK site, it hasn't taken off.

Chip shop sausages this way are rank, batter is lovely but the actual sausage is not great at all.
?4.80 is pricey think that would be under ?3.50-4 here in grim north.

There's a chippy here called the cod father but I think that's quite common. One I go to is about a 7 mile drive but is rated as one of the best in the UK (iirc). Shame I don't really like fish and chips more than maybe thrice a year

I wish chilli houses were more popular. ?4-?5 for a decent-sized bowl, wham, bam, thankyou, m'am. Alas not.

It's ?4.85 for a small cod and chips here in my local, ?5.95 for a large cod and chips.

Odd; I would've expected fish-and-chips to be good in Ireland.

I mean Scotland does a decent job; apparently New Zealand does too.

I can only compare directly to a few places in Glasgow, Liverpool and maybe one or two other places but I reckon we have some excellent chippers here in Ireland. But almost all the good ones I know are in Dublin and I've been to some atrocious ones outside Dublin (though not all bad by any means). Burdocks in Dublin is good and well known but there are a few gems in different areas. Joe's Chip Inn in Rush, North county Dublin, is one of my all time faves. Not sure if they're still as good as they used to be but, man, they were in a league all of their own when I used to go there.

Often wondered if there is a culture difference with chips in particular. UK ads for awful things like oven chips often cite crispy as being a good thing whereas a good chipper for me does huge fat soggy chips smothered in salt and vinegar. Have never seen crispy as a desirable quality.

speaking of eating in dublin went to jimmy chungs all you can eat...said to my wife that is it i am stuffed and she said you do realise the all you can eat includes dessert..and i was in darth vader episode 3 voice NOOOOOOOOOO

For me good chips have to be peeled and cut decent potatos ...i am literally stunned how many chippers i have been in just using frozen chips i like it slightly crispy with lots of salt and vinegar

Yeah, frozen chips are not even remotely acceptable. Out of even the average chippers I would know, not a single one would use frozen chips.

I've only been to a chippy once that gave me frozen chips. I went back in and demanded a complete refund.

I couldn't imagine a more ridiculous notion; it'd be like Pizza Hut serving Tesco's frozen oven pizzas, or an italian serving supermarket microwave lasagne.
