Tell me about it. It's the second time I've done it in two days. Must be the stress from the network upgrade.
Speaking of which, I finished it this morning and now our office/warehouse have Gigabit switches with 10Gb links which are 100x faster than before(100Mb) and I can keep the old switches and router to practice for a CCNA or something.

From the second link:
He also threatened to burn down her house and kill any officers who turned up to investigate and commit suicide
Is doing stuff at your job really smile topic worthy? Only way I can see it might be, is if you usually fail at every single task you are given. Otherwise it just seems too obvious to mention... i have a job, I did what I was asked to do, I got paid!Last edited by Darwock; 03-07-2015, 06:08.

It's more a case of him having such a stressful day when he down the comms for THE WHOLE COMPANY earlier in the week, that having a comparatively stress-free one was note-worthy.
You do understand that nobody will remember that you upped the speed of the switches though, Randombs?
They'll just remember you being the guy who brought down the comms FOR THE WHOLE COMPANY.
I rebooted the email server in my first fortnight in my new job and it didn't come back up properly. Everybody blamed me, even though the server hadn't been rebooted in months!
So, to paraphrase Ice Cube:
Today was like one of those fly dreams
Didn't even see a berry flashing those high beams
No helicopter looking for a murder
Two in the morning got the fat burger
Even saw the lights of the Goodyear Blimp
And it read Ice Cube's a pimp (yeah)
Drunk as hell but no throwing up
Half way home and my pager still blowing up
Today I didn't even have to rebuild an entire server because the original one refused to boot in a timely manner and the snapshots were unusable from a disaster recovery standpoint.
I got to say it was a good day

Two things this morning.
1. Tesco Clubcard proving useful at last, they wrote to us to say a baby car seat we bought six months ago has been recalled. Sure we wouldn't have known otherwise.
2. New word for the week, "Capricious" which means .... Suddenly and unexpectedly changing your opinion or behaviour without any good reason.

Truth be told, it really only amounted to 30 mins downtime because the office doesn't really kick in until 9:30. I was the only one beating myself up over it in the end. And luckily it was just the Japan office, not the whole company!
Mind you, I do have access to all the global servers which got me thinking: IT guys aren't vetted at all(that I'm aware of) yet we wield phenomenal cosmic power.
