As a business im in a really good position financially,

In the black at all times.
No debt.
No overdraft.
Owe suppliers next to nothing as i pay upfront 95% of time.
Manufacture everything, so maximum profit.
Tax all paid up.
Vat all paid up.

Dream compared to most, even with all that I might last 30 days on a lockdown with nothing coming in, if im lucky.


If theres a lockdown were going to hit a depression so quickly and so badly it will make the 1920’s look like a sunny holiday.

What is your rateable value?
Will you get a grant?

Get on the phone and speak to everyone who you pay out to monthly and put it on hold.
Also, if you have staff speak to them.


We will see another round of bail outs.

The government knows that they need to keep the businesses going, otherwise it will be armageddon.

Over half the workforce in the UK are at risk, and they certainly don't understand that they are probably 14-60 days away from it.
The other half will be around 14-28 days behind them.

When I see people say "Nice one, off work for a few weeks can get stuck into some games" it makes me feel a bit sad, the lack of understanding on how hard this is going to hit is scary.

But, speak to everyone, get things in place tomorrow, and hope for the best.

What does 'lockdown' entail in terms of getting food?

Just asking, doing a peanut shop tomoz and wanna know if I should take one or two bags-for-life with me.

You should be able to go to the shops.
However, expect 2-3 hour queues to get in and then hope they have some stock is the reality.

Belgium has gone into full lockdown today, only the essentials allowed. Pharmacies, Supermarkets and Hairdressers.

Trade bids are through the floor.

Arnold Clark not buying any more cars.
Sytner dumping stock - like they did in 2009. To rebuy when they are even lower.
We Buy Any Car only doing same day valuations.


My 2014 5 series touring with WBAC was at £12400 4 weeks back, dropped to £11800 two weeks ago.
Monday it was at £8300.
Don't even dare look today.

2018 M140i 4 weeks back was at £21800 trade, now at £13155.

That tells you a lot about what is going on.


BMW shutting production down tomorrow.


Local estate agent has had 9 of the 12 houses going through cancel as no one wants to take on more debt.
He said he will go bust this time.
He works on 1%.

What does 'lockdown' entail in terms of getting food?

Totally depends on whether lockdown is a dramatic term for being sensible and staying in or if it turns into full-on lockdown. I think very few countries have gone on real lockdown and usually just at breaking point. But you can’t go wrong getting a few extra nuts.

I've just been dropped by the (very successful) start-up I've been working with for almost five years.

Tomorrow I need to get my business idea out of my head and onto the wall, and then into some form of proper plan. We have six months of expenses as a buffer. I need nine more clients before the end of June to turn this around.

Unbelievably the only thing I'm worried about is my board game expansions and securing them before stock dries up. That's how stupid I am.

I need to listen to my own advice.

Right now I'm constantly in ready-to-fight mode. I feel like goin out with a Bastard Sword....

My soul is all tight expecting combat. But I'm lovely, I don't want combat, it's only helpful when you've got truly bad transgressors.
