Yeah. When she read me the email we both had a moment of stoney silence.

Brilliant. The rate this virus is mutating is just ridiculous.

The anti-vaxxers are apparently going to be protesting outside schools as we go back on Wednesday.

We don't have vaccine mandates at schools you stupid ****s! Go back to poisoning yourselves with horse de-wormer.

            Also the C.1.2 variant.

Just a curiosity - have there been many reports of people getting covid twice? Or even three times? Given how infectious it is and how long we've been dealing with it now, it feels like we'd be hearing of this happening quite a bit but I've missed it if it has been happening. Anyone know?

A Chinese colleague of mine has been ingesting horse de-wormer paste as a preventative. She asked me yesterday if I thought this was a good idea. I said no.

WTF? How on earth could anyone think that would be a good idea? I hope she follows your advice.

My wife had it twice before she was vaccinated.

First time really knocked her about, practically comatose for a couple of days.
She lost her sense of smell and taste for a while afterwards and was constantly exhausted, even by simple mental tasks (write a shopping list).

Second time was nowhere near as bad, thankfully, but she definitely had it again and a test confirmed it.

FYI, there is a huge movement online of folks taking Ivermectin, typically among those who are against the vaccine. You're right to have told her it's a bad idea, naturally, but I saw this today which is a good recap of how the idea's come to prominence.

"GB News bosses remain concerned about the risk of an Ofcom investigation into coronavirus-related misinformation. Last month presenter Calvin Robinson suggested using the anti-parasite drug ivermectin to fight Covid, despite warnings from medical organisations that there is no evidence it is effective."

It seems absolutely bananas to me that the same conspiracy nuts who won't take a vaccine or wear a mask on medical advice will happily put a totally unrelated drug to mostly kill animal parasites into their bodies.

This can only end with people in horsepital.

Indeed, and unless people rein it in the NHS will be saddled with the backlog for years.
