Where pretty much a One-party state at present with so many systems designed to keep the status quo in place, voting IDs seems only to be a calculated move to further push their advantage, things like this should be handled by independent body's not the sitting party.

No Matter how many manifestos they break, no matter how much money they award their own, their friends, and their contributors company's, no matter how badly they handle things like the pandemic, housing, crime, or social issues no matter how many u-turns they make they seem to be getting a free pass from the press and the public.

It feels like the public that is voting and engaged with politics has pretty much made up their mind that anything other than a Tory goverment would be bad for the UK.

How would PR change that? There's not even agreement within the major parties themselves, let alone control of the media narrative or disappearing people to reeducation camps.

You could describe the Tories as arrogant and populist, but to suggest that we live in a dictorship is hyperbole at best (shouting nazi because the majority does something that's disagreable to the other shows how low the political discourse has sunk on both sides), ask someone who actually does live under the oppression of a real dictorship.

Things like our rights to protest are being attacked, just look at how heavy handed those at the Sarah Everard vigil where treated, The Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill has massive amounts of legislation in it to curb the right to protest. So while you may not end up in a re-education camp you could end up in prison instead if you fall on the wrong side of the bill.

To be fair on the party whip system, my MP doesn't follow it at all and makes decisions free of Conservative Party interference. Technically he is suspended from his party due to allegations of sex crimes and is therefore currently an independent by default, but that's not the point.

Indeed - the party whip is ignored all the time (see the point above about disagreements within the political parties themselves) - or did we forget all the problems Mrs May had passing her Brexit policies? Or that all parties of all colours have party whips.

We don't live in a dictatorship, it's just damning that the voting public seems to adore a party that would be one if it could be one

Receiving the San Sebastian Lifetime Achievement Award, Depp took the opportunity to call out cancel culture saying no-one is safe from a 'instant rush to judgment'.

Its silly to say we are but again we're not as free as we think we are either, vote manipulation, and voter suppression are pretty rife in UK politics, the billionaire news barrons dont help either as how do you combat that amount of promotion, getting the press onside is massively beneficial in the uk Blair new this and Jhonson knows this too.

                            Yet.
