The inability to explain every single 'sighting' is an expected statistical normalcy based on outcomes derived from available data, never a window to assume aliens are the answer.

Thank god mankind has never made a habit of inserting their beliefs or hopes into explaining away that of which they don't have an immediate answer to!

That's true, but when a US drone in Kandahar stops what it's doing to hand track a metallic sphere traveling at high speed across the town in broad daylight, and the US government released that footage because they can't explain it, you have to start reaching for more unusual explanations.

Some of these acknowledged videos date back decades. The gimble video is from the 1990's. Drone tech didn't exist then, and especially drone tech that defies gravity and then disappears at a rate of 15000mph.

Drone tech that you know about. I mean, if we're to believe it's possible it's aliens, then it's just as possible to believe that governments have technology that isn't in the public domain that they've been working on for decades.

I personally don't believe its hyper advanced drone tech for a number of reasons:

These objects have been tracked as speeds beyond that of scram-jets, moving in air much thicker than the upper atmosphere which Scram-jets operate. Air resistance would be a major problem.

The objects have no signs of propulsion. They do not appear to have jets or propellers.

These objects have been talked about since the 1940s, and video's predate any drone tech. Could china have developed anti gravity tech during the 1970s/1980s, when their economy was a fraction of what it is now?

Why would the US release videos of Chinese advanced drone tech and admit they don't know what it is, and its flying over their airspace? They'd be admitting that another country has air superiority over its own citizens. And if it was US tech, why release the videos at all?

If the Government releases images and footage of unidentified objects that might be alien in origin isn't that confirmation that they're 100% not alien as otherwise they'd be trying to hide the possible or confirmed existence as per Grusch's claims?

Then why change the narrative? They've poo pood UFOs for decades. Why start talking and releasing videos of they're own tech now, and pretend not to know what it is? Why not just carry on poo pooing it?

Feels bad I have a friend at work who's really into this. He came to me today with a load of links about this recent story, supposedly that the major legal firm supporting this whistleblower has stepped away from him, only for his lawyer to leave the firm to carry on.

I've really cynical about alien/UFO related stories. I used to be really interested in the 90s, but obviously, every time this came up, nothing ever resulted from it. These days I kinda believe one of three things:

1) That due to the drake equation, there's probably life out there, but I don't believe it's contacted us.
2) I worry contact would be devastating, based on our own historical precedent (I think the Dark Forest Theory applies)
3) If the government really has kept UFOs secret, it's on a level which is more accomplished than practically anything the governments of the world have ever done, and I worry it's because, where it known, it would lead to (2)

But heavy, heavy emphasis on (1).

I listened to what he had to say; I mean I'm not an arsehole, he's my mate - I didn't want to just shoot him down. But when he got to the end of it, he asked what I thought, and I related that I'm just not convinced.

He was really deflated, saying that as someone he considers smart, he feels I really should listen to the interviews and "make up my own mind".

My own opinion is this:

We 100% are not alone in the universe or even the galaxy. Its a mathematical certainty. Whether anything has visited us, or is here already I really don't know. Space is too damn big without some super advanced space folding warp drive.
But it is clear to me that there are objects in the sky we simply can't explain. Some of the recent videos are very odd and convincing and I do believe there are things in the sky, in the sea and in space we simply have no current explanation for.
I have an open mind to all this, because I think the only way you can study anything is with an open scientific mind.
However, the decades of Psy-ops, liars, nonsense videos and photos make it very difficult to know what is true and what isn't.

So in conclusion:

Do UAPs exist? Yes
What are they? Don't know
Will we ever know? Probably not

There's nothing odd about acknowledging UAPs - why wouldn't you acknowledge them? To my recollection, no government has ever acknowledged aliens are visiting the Earth.

There's a vast vast difference between the two things. Fast radio bursts were an unknown phenomenon for years, it didn't make them extraterrestrial radio signals from space.
