Daughter just turned eighteen a month ago, she had a part time job at Mac's which she took to give her some cash while at college. A week or so after her birthday they changed her shifts to nights finishing at 0300. She doesn't drive and all they said was get a taxi!
Quite rightly she told them to walk away in short jerky movements.
Anyway, she had a few vouchers left for meals which she spent today and treated some homeless to food (if Mac's qualify as food.

Then to top it all she bought a Jack Reacher for my birthday.

    Lovely.

My wife's grandiose narcissistic brother and his wife lashing out in emails at my wife and her brother because they were thwarted in their machinations to prevent my wife and her brother getting their rightful share of the inheritance. Laughing out loud!

Ouch. A very similar thing happened between my mom and her sisters after my grandma died...it's not nice going through that.

Had a right nightmare of a day today, had to get a car I've had in long-term storage down to the garage to be resurrected, getting it loaded onto the truck with heavy rain throughout. Lots of lying down in puddles and general misery.

However, I found my PSP in the car! I've been looking for it for absolutely ages now. Still works (swelled-up old battery aside - replacement in the post), even has a system update still due for it from 2015. To be fair I don't think it's been lost quite that long, I just never used to connect it to the Internet. But it's probably been missing a good 4-5 years.

Yes, let's cross our fully extended telephoto zoom lenses in a sign of mutual respect.

Had a sequence of good luck come my way this past week.

First I heard back from our guy who's been taking a look at some home renovation me and Mrs Wools want done (Remove en-suite from our master bedroom so we get more space & renovate our pre-existing main bathroom) and their quote was a lot more reasonable than we had feared. As such, the trip to Japan in 2023 is now fully on! So will be taking a look this week at what's possible for flights, hotels and time of stay, to see what's feisable.

Also, I've had a hectic 3 years where I got let go from my old work place in 2020 lock down but found a new place so all was well. But then the Russian war happened and our company, who were Russian, had some intresting comments about it so I decided to fly the nest. However, the place I landed at was run by a sociopath and I had a rough few months there. Luckily, a recruiter reached out at the perfect time and I found myself where I am now. It was a great start; On a massive pay jump, on unlimited holiday allowance (Yes, new to me too) Manager of the depertment with freeedom of choice in what we should do and everyone has been fantastic. Today was my 3 month probation meeting and my manager couldn't have been kinder nor more complimentary in not just his feelings about me (Non-romantic, I think) but other Leads too, so that left an impression todday!

So I'm running into December settled at my workplace for the first time in about 3 years, with our house renovation looking great and left over slush funds for a trip in 2023 / 2024 to one of my last dream destinations I've yet to visit; Japan.

I'm sure I'll be back to Earth with a bump soon, but cloud 9 for now!

Took the big tub of Meguiar’s Gold Class car shampoo to the counter for a price check (no tag on the shelves) and it registered at the same price as the tiny bottle. Should have bought two.
