The best way to deal with the elected head of a regional government is to ignore her because she's vain and attention seeking. So says Truss, to fulsome applause from an audience full of gammons and purple rinses.
What kind of way is this to be a professional politician? It beggars belief. It's almost impressive that, after all this time and criminal incompetence, they can still continue to surprise.

I also ignore Nicola Sturgeon. However, I have no stock on Scottish Independence and can't vote for the SNP, so her politics and opinions have no relevance to me. But similarly, I'm not vying to be Prime Minister.
Is every politician just doing the Trump thing, now? Where they just say whatever will get a positive vibe from whatever room they're in?

"We shouldn't provoke Russia by allowing other countries into NATO."
"We shouldn't provoke Russia by having a new nuclear deterrent."
"We shouldn't provoke Russia by stopping them from invading other sovereign countries."
"We shouldn't provoke Russia, just let them occupy Westminster, they'll stop soon."

Yep, it's not a position of supporting peace if your approach to it is to sit by and allow mass genocides and atrocities to happen on national scales
He always was and always will be unfit to lead the party and it says a lot that he still maintains levels of support despite such an obvious fundamental failing that is core to being PM
