Leaked report suggests Dominic Raab trying to curb judges’ powers | Judiciary | The Guardian
Good thing these people won't be in charge for much lon... oh

Archie Battersbee family says ‘no parent must go through this again’ | Children | The Guardian
Terrible situation you'd never want to live through but someone really needs to provide some real support to this family. They're continuing a fight that is just another loss waiting to happen. Any reform of the process they went through will simply be to shut down similar cases faster in future, not to give parents the ability to force hospitals to maintain such patients indefinitely because loved ones won't accept the diagnosis.

Just saw Rishi's video about shredding EU regulations.

Honestly, to borrow a term from the youth of today, it's one of the most "cringe" things I've ever seen.

          God I know.

Yeah, Richi. Because what we all want is for useless wankers like you to devise bespoke regulations that drive standards and rights down into the gutter. Probably so your hedge fund buddies can make a killing.

Sunak and Truss are on this weird race to try and maximise returns from that group of racist blokes down the pub, and it's bizarre how they don't see how that alienates most other people. But maybe that's the point.

To be fair, we're coming from a position of privilege where the right to life and freedom from torture are something we are lucky enough to take for granted.

That's why I think it is worth pointing out because his claims to "change the definition of asylum" means tearing up the the entire human rights rules and I think a lot of people in these privileged positions see Rishi making these oily speeches phrased to look like he's tackling one issue, but we're giving them the keys to the kingdom.

Patel was condemning do-good lefty lawyers too.
FFS, who wants lawyers who aren't "do-good"?!
                  What's the opposite of that?!

That's why it's so depressing. There's not even an attempt to conceal it anymore. It's practically Megatron preaching to the Decepticons.

More like dive head long into it like moronic lemming’s while they grin as they drain the country dry.

The stuff they're both espousing reminds me of what's going on in America with Roe etc. Our leaders basically spend their time pandering to a minority of right wing extremists.

We need more vids of Mick Lynch laughing at news anchors in here, it's too ****ing depressing.

At least Megatron wasn't trying to conceal that his wife doesn't have Cybertronian passport, so that he could syphon off Energon Cubes without being taxed on them.

Know what the really sad thing about this country is, take beer and football away and there would be instant riots on the streets, your right to protest, energy, and drain your account in other disgustingly obvious ways, that's fine, roll over, nothing we can do.

I can't wait to just leave one day.
