I get her point, that Kwarteng is more sympathetic to the Eton and financial elite than to the Black British community, but her wording was fumbled and horribly off. A true wordsmith like Benjamin Zephaniah could pull it off with: "the strangest animal I've ever seen is the Black Tory."
She still should never, ever, ever have said it, no matter her point.

That kind of racism ("He's not Black enough") - and it is racism, let's be clear - is proven to be historically damaging.

Nothing at all irrelevant about politicians spouting damaging racist tropes to play up to an electorate in the current climate, and I'm saying that as somebody who despises the Tories and desperately want them out of power like many, many others.

"If you hear him on the Today programme, you wouldn't know he's black."
I'm utterly confused by this comment. What does she want? All black people to have an accent?

Exactly, and that's why I said it was right she got immediately suspended.

I still won’t vote Labour. They want to keep Brexit, and have developed an awful nationalistic stink to them. Absolutely refuse to vote for any party platform that doesn’t explicitly want to reverse Brexit in any form (single market membership, etc).

The shear hubris and ineptitude of this government I don't think has ever been seen before. Willful negligence.
This isn’t wilful negligence, this is all planned and calculated to benefit them and their pals. Case in point Mogg getting fracking pushed through parliament for his own energy company to be in line for the contract.

Their oligarchs at this stage and still no one does anything.

I hope they have a clear majority in your area if that's the case.

I'll worry about Labour's issues once they're in power.

The shadow front bench isn't exactly A class though.
At this stage, all labour need to do is not be the Tories. I just hope the tories get so hammered they don't even get to be opposition.

Yep, easy Labour vote here because in my town any non-Labour vote works out as a +Tory vote so its counter productive to go for any option that in practice lets them back in office here.

Same, I'm not leaving anything to chance.

Ultra-safe Tory seat where LibDems are (distant) second here. Always voted Labour before Brexit was a thing; ironically my vote for them only ever counted in European elections, due to PR.

Burnham needs to return to the front line, for a start.

Huq is a moron. She could have said, ‘Kwarteng is an economically illiterate hedge-fund slag chancer’, which would have been accurate, without the stupid angle.

Do you peasants know how much it costs to heat stables in the winter? No thought so, the energy execs and mp’s absolutely need all the money to keep their horses warm.

If that bankrupts the country then I'm all for it.

The IMF intervention is amazing. The kind of thing they normally do to tell off emerging economies and banana republics when they're being reckless.
