4-5h a night will serve you well mate... congratulations from me. I've got 3 girls now (eldest just turned 8 last week, youngest is 3) and I think the most sleep I get is 6 hours if I'm lucky. I always do the early mornings and the wife gets up to them in the night if I'm late to bed... That works for us.

Back to heating. We've also got Hive across 3 floors in a new build here, two zones though (bottom floor and top two combined). It's good as you can monitor how often the heating gets triggered. We're averaging it coming on 1.5-2hrs a night set at 18 degrees but like I said the girls room at the top of the house is colder. I've just bled one of the radiators in their room this morning as we noticed it was cold at the top last night so hoping that helps. I might pop to B&Q later and get the foil you can put on the outer walls to reflect heat back in. Not sure how good that is but it's a cheap enough install to try it out.

-9 real feel here overnight (Taunton, Somerset).

It's dropped -7C for a few nights here, we've had the heating on probably 12-14 hours in the flat per day as it's on the end and on the top floor and that corner of the building gets hit the most by the winds. So it's usually great in summer for keeping cool and not needing aircon, not so great now, but gas is cheaper than electricity right now, hooray small mercies (gas boiler with hot water tank).

Before the cap rise in October, we were paying around £75 per month total for both, since the cap rise about the same, but that's obviously with the government free cash (so the overall bill natch is higher). Not sure what the next bill will be given the need for more heating in the last two weeks.

Temps rise here from Sunday from -2 degrees to +13 degrees so we're having a final night splurge on heating lol

It was supposed to be 5 degrees today.

Hasn't risen above 0 so beware those "weather forecasts".

I can’t see it hitting 13c in essex, we’ll see.

Not rising here until after sunset, it's the rain bringing in the warmer weather seemingly.

In for a slippy, slidey nightmare when that freezes.

3 degrees in South London yesterday and 5 today. It does feel noticeably milder when walking the dog

Year 12 here today, i hate it, its just wet and muggy and everything is damp, either go hot or stay cold, i detest this type of weather.

Agreed yesterday despite the temperature being, as they predicted +15°C higher than the overnight temperatures, it just felt damp, grey and depressing. I shut the curtains and lit my candle at 15.30 because it was so dark and miserable.

Much better today with the sun out, I even have a window open to get some fresh air around the place.
