So are we to believe that using your political links to Try and dodge getting points on your license and having to attend a speed awareness course is not abusing your position for personal gain? This is more about that Sunak can't afford to loose any more Torys as their dropping like fly's, I also heard The term Snivel Servants this morning, so looks like the Torys and their supporters have a new enemy.

Rishi Sunak says the home secretary did not break the rules, as she apologises "for the distraction".

Lovely smug picture, just sets the tone for the current governments attitude to wrong doing.

Meanwhile - be careful at the beach
Seagulls have been swooping down and stealing drugs from users, leaving them high and out of control in many seaside towns, with reports of psychotic behaviour from the birds increasing

“A seagull and spice is not a good combo. It turns them into psycho gulls.”

          That's right.

          I'm a politician.

The rules don't apply to me.

They apply to you. You're a little person.

I got away with it. Look at my smile. I'm untouchable and I ****ing know it.

It's frustrating that we've started to just accept that our elected representatives will break the rules if they want.
That's two examples this week alone.

Other countries would be rioting by this point.

Rioting over an mp doing 35 in a 30 and trying to use her political clout to wiggle out of it? We don't even get that upset over things like getting shafted over, Food, Utilitys, Fuel, housing so i very much doubt it.

Yeah, but people in the UK reaaaaallly wanted the police to be able to lock up environmental protestors, so they didn't complain when the government passed draconian anti-protest powers.

I'm not gonna be the first one to throw a brick through the Commons' window. I'm not going to prison for this country of Brexitory *****.

We’re a monarchy still. If we were rebellious, we wouldn’t have been for decades, perhaps a century or more even. It’s in the British psyche to just sit back and let the establishment classes walk all over us. It took the horror of World War II for the most recent significant set of social reforms to happen.

It’s not that I accept political wrongdoing, it’s just that I have almost zero legal mechanisms to do anything about it. Our political system failed when MPs finally figured out that if you do something wrong, just do nothing and don’t resign and it will just go away.

Although it's **** what's happening, it's not correct to say country X or Y would be doing X or Y at this point.

All countries are ****ed in their own ways, you just don't see it as you're based in the UK. I work with a worldwide team and they frequently bemoan issues happening in their country that I've not even heard reported.

I always roll my eyes when I hear someone based in the UK says I'm moving as I've had enough of our issues and when they say where they're moving to I think: Good luck! You're just ignorant of all the countries failings as you don't live there yourself.

                          And, breathe.

Excellent. He can pay for his own lawyers now. Another after-dinner speech or two (at approx. 150-200 grand apiece) for a corrupt regime or industry should cover his fees for the next six months.
