Thought this was interesting and for whatever reason haven’t heard it elsewhere despite watching both Newsnight, C4 news and listening to topical radio.

DJ Vance left his Venmo account public, oh the juicy irony of all his dirt.

The Republican VP nominee's Venmo network reveals connections ranging from the architects of Project 2025 to enemies of Donald Trump—and the populist's close ties to the very elites he rails against.

Vance kind of makes sense from a Trump POV in that he's a man willing to 110% sell out for his own benefit. It perfectly lines him up that Trump can basically say to him "Support me fully for the next 4 years and I'll line you up for President, all you need to do is agree to pardon me in 2029 for everything and I'll fully push you to the top"

But at the same time not realising that it's that exact same lack of morals that will mean that Vance will stab him in the back at the very first opportunity.

… and he’s endorsed Kamala. Thank goodness, I thought he was leaving a vacuum for about half an hour there.

The only sensible decision that there could be, despite what some people on here were coming out with. He clearly was no longer fit to be POTUS anymore. Like I said before, he should've been committed to being one-term only, but a man who had ran twice before in a political career spanning five decades clearly couldn't resist the chance to enhance his legacy and become a two-termer.

The timing sucks for the Democrats - next to no time left. They now need to throw absolutely everything at whoever they pick to become their candidate (likely Harris).

You really think that wouldn't kick off a second American Civil War??

                      It absolutely wouldn’t.

Instead of being disingenuous about it, just remember that January 6th happened. That's not exactly far off. At very least, that almost certainly happens again.

Near lock in second term for Trump now, the whole thing couldn't have been handled worse. It's beyond a national shame that US politics stands at this point after the last 8 years

I’d list all awful things he’s done but the character limit of a post isn’t long enough, all factually backed up with evidence, that’s he’s gotten away with, clean as a whistle, and that sack of s**t has not only been allowed to be president once, but could be twice, and the second time will have far reaching consequences for democracy and the planet for a long long time, thats also a fact.

Theres isn’t a single scenario where him being dead and incinerated isn’t a universal good thing for everyone.

Kamala Harris has secured the support of the majority of Democratic delegates, according to a spokesperson for Nancy Pelosi and US media, though has not been formally nominated

All 50 state Democrat party chairs have now stated support for Harris

I really worry about Harris' chances just down to the misogyny and racism in the country. Prove me wrong, US, please. But at least it feels like the Democrats have rallied rather than eating their own, which they've been doing for the last few weeks. They've put more effort into taking Biden down than in taking Trump down.
