Pancake Day - How do you do yours?

Rumour has it that the pagans of Early Modern Britain were convinced to become Christians only by an assurance that their beloved day of unleavened fried sweetmeats could be folded into their new belief system.

Some have purported that the flat, circular disc shape was originally modelled on the saucer-shaped craft of the extraterrestrials who first brought humans the simple eggs, milk and flour recipe.

Amid the mists of history which swirl around this most mysterious and delicious of holidays, only one thing can be known for sure...

Lemon and sugar is the best way to have 'em.

American-style pancakes are superior to European crêpes.

        Don't @ Me.

I've just had a squeeze of lemon with a sprinkle of sugar and drizzle of maple syrup.

My daughter had Nutella and mini marshmallows.

100% agree, but I couldn't decide, so slammed the whole lot on.

                      NO RAGRATS!

Scotch pancakes I can deal with. Slightly toasted with some ice cream, syrup and strawberries.

My wife got a waffle maker for her birthday which is just awesome!!

UK pancakes don't compare. I'd rather turn the batter into.Yorkshire puddings to accompany a nice roast.

I have mine with gravy, I think it’s probably a regional thing.

I'll give you that. Scotch pancakes also knock crêpes into the bin.

Kudos to you for the waffle maker!

I'm a thin crepe-like pancake fancier with sugar and lemon traditionally, my nan used to make them that way so that was my favourite. She was an excellent cook and made the best pancakes, she would flip them and do a twirl at the same time. My mother is also an amazing cook but she never, ever could master pancakes so we only ever had them when visiting my grandparents usually around Easter.

My amazing husband made the best ive tasted since my nans passing though today, made with bananas and more the American style with some chocolate chips in, a drizzle of golden syrup and a knob of butter on top. What a fantastic breakfast! Defiantly want those again!
