Hello Marcus!

I found this forum through an advert for some import shop, I think Gremlin Games it was called, in a magazine. For some reason their website linked to here. Anyway I found my way here.

The energy of those days was great. I was only about 13 when I first found the forum (~2013) and learned about this entire world of import gaming that I had no clue about.

Once camps took over he banned me and I was active on Greenhillzone while that was a thing. I later returned here once charles had taken over.

The forum has been quite a big part of my life, I went on holiday to Japan when I was 18 with one guy I met here (we are now out of touch unfortunately).

Thanks for creating it.

There's barely been a day when I haven't logged on since it started.

WTF??? I first found NTSC-uk back in 2004. I was 22!!

Good to hear from you again marcus! Thank you for creating the website and forum. It may well have changed since then but the lineage of what you created is still here and that is fair testament IMO.

I was off VGI and I never seemed to successfully transition to NTSC-UK and didn't post much. I did manage to get a temporary suspension when people were saying "post your Neo-Geo collection" and I did a screenshot of my rom folder.

I think I got a warning or temp ban in my first week for mentioning selling my import Japanese PS3.

Hahah. Totally deserved.

Actually I think the rules were as long as you didn't tell people how to go about finding roms it was Ok, but some people were a bit more "original hardware or dead" than others.

I still call this place NTSC-UK.

Met Saurian, Adi, Paperweight and MD for a couple of drinks once. Nice people.

Despite some absences, this will always be a fun little home for me on the interwebs.

I reckon given the amount of folks on here running Misters and emulation devices I’m due a retrospective pardon.

Oh Jesus yeah I remember the debate over ROMs absolutely raging in the 2000s on here. Some people were violently against them.

It’s kind of funny in retrospect how heated it would get on here.

I remember that guy. My memories also seem to mainly include arguments. Though that may not be a fair assessment. It's like how the only family holiday you remember is the one where it all went wrong, or how a teacher only remembers the names of the bad students.

@dataDave yes that was Julian (AlphaCentauri) who sadly passed, makes me sad to this day and it left a hole in me that will never be filled. He was one of my best friends but he suffered from a horrible psychological disease that, were it happening today, I feel he would probably have got the right help he needed to get through it.
I think I also knew this person; if they're the person I think they were, I had them on my Xbox friends list and even Skype list. I had a prune of that address book a couple of years ago and seeing their name hit me like a truck. Such a creative guy; I could scarcely believe it when I heard the news.

It really has been such a long time. Hard to believe it sometimes.

Gamecube brought me here, fact finding around the practicalities of importing one via Lik-Sang. It was a toe dipping exercise, I can't quiote recall specifics of the time but I recall the emphasis on import gaming and feeling like you had to have a handle on that side of things much more.

Loved this place when I first joined, I think around 2007. So many nice people and felt a home away from home. I almost got a ban once too because I was off on one but rather than get grief, people messaged me to see if I was ok. (I wasn't it turned out).

A home away from home for many years and always fond memories.

Joined in 2005, mostly for news and discussion- but then discovered the trading forum back in the days when it was truly epic.

Great place to get cool stuff, imports, do trades and get preowned new releases cheap. Used to get some amazing bargains on here back then, and when I did clear outs they always came here first for very small prices - I remember selling Ghost in the Shell PS1 for £5, Vandal Hearts for £5, Silent Hill US for £5- crazy stuff- but always to long seen and known forumites, and mostly because I got bully bargains from them too
