Gordons Alive! - The 'They're Still Living?!' Thread

So many celebrity deaths each year, so here's a thread for those times you discover that someone you had figured had long ago left this mortal coil turns out to still actually be with us.

    Kicking us off:

    John Astin

Gomez Addams himself and adopted father of Goonie Sean Astin, he's aged 93 and still rocking life with us

Are you sure that last one isn't some homeless guy in San Francisco?

It's the man himself, aged 93 now time is definitely catching upm with him. Here's two years ago:

Wow, that's quite the transformation. Still, 93 is an amazing innings.

Don't forget what happened to Jet Li, he looked the same age for 20 years than it hit him hard.

Have a few patients at work in their 70s-90's who are looking pretty good for their age. Before the pandemic we had one who was in his mid 90's and I swear he looked less than 70 (he only sees the hygienist so unsure if still around). Of course, the flip side of that is I have seen patients younger than me (nearly 40) look way older, including some in heir mid 20's who by their xrays alone you would have thought they were very old (old meth addicts)

That's right. Last week I saw the Expendables 2 then yesterday saw part 3. Jet Li looked about 30- years older! It's amazing how some people suddenly age like that.

It’s definitely health related matters, you don’t suddenly change so rapidly, unless there is an underlying issue.

It’s alarming how quick your life flashes by, especially, when you are caught up in the daily 9-5 routine working for someone else.

Something that would be worth asking, is if some of these individuals feels as old as they look on the outside…

My Nan died at 83 and she used to always say that one of the difficulties was feeling like you reached the age of around 21 and mentally never really changed past that point, meanwhile the face looking back at you in the mirror gets older and older and less like how you feel

Jet Li looks great for his age! I just think we as a public are used to old actors aging gracefully (Through surgery and a diet and exercise regime governed by their contracts and bank accounts) we forget people, are people.

Anyone else look at their parents in the 70's and think they looked old before their time? My Grandparents died in their late 50's and 60's (So I'm due a long life, clearly) and they looked so old, bless 'em. But my Mum who's in her 60's still looks great for her age. I think people born in the early 20th Century looked older, through their diet, lifestyle, clothes and fags. So many fags.

With food science coming on leaps and bounds over the course of my life, I've taken so much on board. I bet with my diet of salads, water and Haagen Dazs ice cream, I bet I'll look stunning for another 50 years or so.

I think in the 70's people did look old for their time, all the blokes dressed the same. Nowadays blokes wear t-shirts and so on. Then you didn't see anyone doing exercise, I do two 6k's a week, plenty of people over forty out there running and cycling.
Diet can be excellent if that's what you choose but obesers are the new smokers.

Father in-law is eighty-five and looks great in jeans and a t-shirt - as noted by the daughter.

My parents are falling into the trap whereby their tastes in things are becoming... old. You can see the house slowly morphing into more of the atypical old persons house with their choice of decorating and furniture etc. The same when you walk through town, it's a heavy population of old people where I live and you see people in their 70's shuffling around town and think that 30 years ago it was the 90's and they were around my age - what the **** happens to make someone give in to that old person image? Jeans and t-shirts etc for life!

Out of that age bracket above me most have quit things like jogging, running with things like knackered joints and knees being the biggest complaint. I use that to justify my passiveness to it I think when I retire the biggest thing to do more often would be the swimming baths

Glynis Johns, probably best known for her role as Mrs. Winnifred Banks in Mary Poppins celebrated her 100th birthday this week!
She was also in The Court Jester which is a film I would love to see again

I'd completely forgotten she was still around, I remember reading that a couple of years back.

I've been convinced several times over the years that William Daniels was gone, but KITT himself is still going at 96

Scottish actress Gudrun Ure, best known for playing the eponymous lead role in the classic 1980s Children's ITV show Supergran, is still with us today at the age of 97.
