Like ikobo, I'm also interested in retro games (Gamecube and earlier), and mainly Nintendo-stuff I guess.

Regarding game shops, I found this article by The Guardian from February, but it only covers Tokyo :/

I should hire a personal assistant to guide me through all the best retro game shops in Japan for a week or two haha

Ah, Tokiwa Musen. I you. So many bargains in a shop the size of my downstairs toilet.

No Messe Sannoh is weird. Although last time I was there it was a bit disappointing.

I couldn't find Super Potato last October either. It didn't seem to be where I remember it with the music playing outside to entice you in.

Can anybody recommend a website for ordering JR Passes? There seem to be a few sites selling them and I don't want to get ripped off. japanspecialist.co.uk is run by JTB which is the company who sorted our Ghibli museum tickets so maybe we'll just go with them unless anybody has a recommendation?

Are you going to just buy them in the office?

Let me know if you see any copies of Harvest Moon 64!

Is that a question for me?

No, you have to buy an exchange order before you go. Then you exchange that for a pass in Japan. Just not sure who to order from online.

IIRC I've seen a couple around Akihabara and/or Nakano (Mandarake). Can't remember if they were with or without boxes though. I'm searching for Wonder Project J2 and I've found cart only.

Dude, do not play that game! But if you must, go upstairs in Super Potato. It's remaindered stock, so they should have PILES of NEW copies. Comes with a memory card too, so not too bad really. Should be about 500-1000 yen. Ogre Battle 64 is usually about 100 yen for new copies too. If you look in Book Off, they usually have loads of cheap stuff. If you go to Akihabara again, come out of the station and go straight on (so the main street and Sega arcade is off to your right and you pass Beckers on the left, then turn left at the end of the street, after you pass under the overpass, it's on the left. Plenty of good stuff in there

If you happen to find HM64 or Sim City 64, I would buy them off you no problem

Jay, did you buy your rail pass? If so who did you go with? I was thinking of going with http://www.japan-rail-pass.com/

JTB should be Japan Travel Bureau, who are a reputable company.

Super Potato are very random, I picked up a sealed Shenmue one day and the rest were gone shortly after.

Today's the last day, went to SP again and no trace of boxed Project Wonder J2.
