What happened with pot 4? Not a single half decent team in there.

    Comment

Probably because of the change in the qualifying process that meant champions from the lower ranked countries played each other rather than the third / fourth place teams from bigger countries.

I wouldn't say there are no half decent sides there though. I don't think FC Twente, Auxerre and Rubin Kazan will be disgracing themselves, and Cluj have had some decent results in the past (away win at Roma, draw with Chelsea).

What a night. Just arrived in time to hear the glorious music. The card system was a bit screwy so I know a lot of people missed the first goal. I was sat right on the edge next to the YB fans. Loud and proud they were but what a performance from Bale. Simply amazing!
I only just sneaked in in time as well. The queue to get in to the upper tier was massive and it was taking ages. Fortunately I made it in time for the champions league music though and all the flag waving!

Great night, heres to many more. Im definitely up for a few Euro away trips. Im hoping we get someone like Inter, Barca or Bayern from the first pot, and then maybe a couple of slightly easier draws from the other two so that we get the glamour games but also have a chance of progressing as well. Exciting times!

Great draw for us I think. Was worried we'd either get a bollock hard group or none of the pot 1 glamour ties. We're nicely in the middle.

Anyone listen to talk sport today? Adrian Durham's been on the wind up all afternoon saying we've not done anything to warrant a well done. Granted it was just a single match last night against minnows but that doesn't mean last season's efforts should be ignored. I know he's got an agenda from the bosses but...

According to Teletext: Inter Milan, Werder Bremen, FC Twente, Tottenham.

If you happen to meet Arsenal in the European Cup Final, you and Arsenal wouldn't have to travel very far - Wembley will be hosting this seasons Final.

Can't wait for Inter at the Lane and German crowds have a great reputation so away to Bremen could be a really good one. Very tough but we've got a good chance if we play at our best.

Andy Gray doesn't think we've got much chance. Good, I hope everyone writes us off.

It is a very tough group. Hopefully we'll add a couple of quality signings (at least one striker) to give us a chance.

Well after watching a pretty ordinary peformance by Inter Milan against Atletico Madrid yesterday and thinking Spurs shouldn't be too worried about them today we can't even put away Wigan. Even worse we actually lose.

It's that sort of bizarre inconsistency which makes being a Spurs fan so, um ....... interesting

Yeah the less said about yesterday the better. We were a shadow of the team that played midweek. And at least against City we had some momentum going forwards, this was all very lacklustre. At least City lost today as well but it's little consolation really.

                          You mean Athletic.

Yes, sorry I'll correct it. I knew it was some Spanish side from Madrid, I was too busy watching Inter to see who we should be worried about. Sneijder and Maicon stood out for me and they both have a strong connection with Real hence the mistake.

                              Or Atletico, even

Pretty rubbish stuff from us yesterday. Wouldn't be surprised if we don't do any business between now and the deadline on Tuesday, but I feel we could just do with one top quality addition to the squad ahead of the Champions League campaign. As much as I'm all for us keeping a consistent base of players from last season it feels like we just need at least something new to add a little bit extra.
