That own goal gave Liverpool a lift, before that we were looking very comfortable. Should be an interesting second half.

Normally I hate Liverpool, but always good to see anyonee beating United. With Carrick crocked and on crutches and Vidic sent off, an excellent day all round. Now lets hope West Ham's off pitch tribulations catch up with them.

Masch was immense - MOTM for me.

I've still a way to go to be convinced by Riera, but he had a solid debut, looked strong and was always prepared to try and beat him man.

Top, top team performance though, and patches of fine football played. If this doesn't give the lads confidence now, then what will?

I was happy with the performance after the first 20 odd mins where we just looked afraid....
As the game went on, we got better and better - still thought we would lose as we have played better than Man U many times in the past few years to lose. Happy for Riera, he kept getting back up after the buffeting he got and did not complain. Alonso and Masch did really well and, even when we could not pass at the start, we always had midfield control. Am also happy that Xabi is OK after the "barge" of vidic. Barging with your elbow into a player's head used to be a straight red (as did taking out the last attacker) called an elbow. Hope the FA treat it as violence rather than two yellows. It was horrific imho - like the Joe Cole one earlier this week.

Also, some great feet by Babel once he came on....yay!

Umm over-reaction?! The first foul was also just a yellow as Ferdinand was covering. The second foul was worthy of a yellow and that is what he got. Nothing like the horrific challenge on Joe Cole where he was left a bloody mess. There was no intent from Vidic to hurt Alonso (who had a great game btw), none at all.

I'm a United fan - just thought I'd say fair play to Liverpool today, the best team won. I work in Liverpool - really not looking forward to going into work now!!

He has only played one game. Any fan who was convinced by Riera would be stupid. Promising start though.

I think Liverpool played excellently, finally got what they deserved against Man U. Brilliant result.
