I can't help but feel Liverpool are the Newcastle of the 90's .
Spending a fortune on players , a manager that having pointless spats with Sir Alex and losing , defence all over the place , and having to score 4 goals a match to win or draw (but they're some of the best matches ever), but will never win the premiership

I don't feel like that at all. We are blossoming into world class team that is capable of tonking anyone. Never win the prem? We have shown this season, that we have defo got it in us now. Are you a Liverpool supporter, by the way?

Me no , I'm a Cardiff boy ... but I rather Liverpool win the title , rather than Chelsea , Man Utd or Arsenal that's for sure, and I think it be good for football as a whole to have Liverpool at last lift the Premiership .

And there is nothing world class about Liverpool, bar 2 players imo

Have you watched Liverpool play in the last few months? In my opinion we are a very dangerous team when attacking. This can easily happen without Gerrard and/or Torres.

Goals are coming thick and fast which is nice, it's the amount goals we're letting in that worries me, eight in two games. Ouch.

You lot have made a lot of progress this season and are not far off.

Yeah, calling them the new Newcastle based on a couple of games is a tad much. It's just a blip, Liverpool have been solid all season at the back and you get crazy games that go against the norm every now and then.

The best thing about the four conceded against Arsenal is that it means Spurs have overtaken Liverpool as the team with the best home defensive record in the league It's quite bizarre and I'm pretty sure I've slipped into some kind of alternative universe!

Defence all over the place? It's still the third best in the league even after conceding four this week, prior to that it was exactly the same as United (and our GD is still +3 better).

Also, we didn't have to score 4 against Blackburn, or Real Madrid or Manchester United or score 5 against Aston Villa or Newcastle. A couple of bonkers 4-4's do not define a team.

Yes I happen to watch Liverpool a lot, given half my best drinking mates , happen to be lifelong supporters .

Yes when Torres wants to play , without Gerrard or Torres , you aren't much of a threat , and I think a lot of teams are getting very used to Liverpool's zone marking . Benayoun is playing well , I'll give him credit .

I don't . Like Newcastle inthe 90's Liverpool relay far too much on one figurehead of a player , Newcastle were what 12 point in front at one stage , I don't call that a blimp .
Its very much like Newcastle in the 90's , even down to arguments and spin with Sir Alex

                    Defence all over the place
Yep , but keep on thinking Mascherano is good buy , much less a good player , and even
Jamie "Passback" isn't having the best of years .

I think the title dream ended , lastnight myself . A game where Man Utd had to win , they did , and that's been the difference

If Liverpool have a defence that statisically is the Premier's League's third strongest this season, helped to keep the team undefeated at home in the League, kept the most league clean sheets over the last few seasons and lost only two leagues games ALL season is seen in Team Andromeda's as "all over the place", Then what exactly is a defence that isn't all over the place?

Lesson learnt: Team Andromeda talks absolute garbage and knows NOTHING about football.

Pains me to say it but Liverpool have been excellent this season, if they converted those draws against the lower teams into wins they would be challenging or actually be ahead of us.

Liverpool's goals are actually distributed through the team more evenly than Manchester United who rely more heavily on fewer players to score the bulk of their goals.

Last season Liverpool had 6 players reach double figures.
                          Torres - 33
                          Gerrard - 21
                          Crouch - 11
                          Benayoun - 11
                          Kuyt - 11
                          Babel - 10

                          United only had 3
                          Ronaldo - 42
                          Tevez - 19
                          Rooney - 18

Zonal marking really is the myth that wont go away.
In the league we've conceded 10 goals from set pieces (United have conceded 9 I think). That includes pens and direct free kicks. If they are getting used to it, they're not using that knowledge to score many goals against us.

You've drawn too many games , more so against Teams that Liverpool should be beating . Now spare me the I know nothing about football . You're out of the FA, Out of the Champions league and all but out of the title race . It be the usual story , of 'next year , will be the year '.

Last season , Liverpool finished where , won what ? , oh that's that right they again lost to Man Utd in the league (after leading at one stage) and even lost the Champions league to them .
With out either Torres , or Gerrard in the side , isn't hard to see where the goals come from

Yeah and you have to say that they've been missing Gerrard and Torres through injury more this season than last (IIRC) and they're still up there challenging this year whilst also being the league's top scorers. It reminds me of the season when Chelsea won the league the second time, Utd were clicking towards the end and ended up coming second. The next year they went on to win it. If not this year for Liverpool it could be next. I definitely wouldn't say they'll never win it.
