You been asleep for a few days dude? He joined Bayern Munich last week

No way we had the £22m for him anyways.

      He wears the red shirt!

        Cheers for that.

Will do him good this loan. He's at the stage where he is probably too good to learn anything more playing in the reserves, but not quite ready for our first team yet.
Greek football is obviously a few notches below the English league in terms of quality, but there are still some massive, high pressure derbies played in front of bonkers crowds out there, should be a good experience.

Oh god, how could we have stomached Robben signing for the club, i still hate watching him play now the scheming little f*&^er lol!

Owen would have been a mistake, don't really see what the prob is as Torres isn't injured. If it happens maybe give Babel a shot up front? If that didn't work out then it really is time to trade him in for a few baseball cards or a McDonalds happy meal or something. Kuyt and Gerrard hardly lacked goals last season so it's hardly all doom and gloom.

Much more worried about the defence than the attack and Rieira's back now .

There's always Benayoun too. Don't know how many he scored last season but he did pop up with some important goals no?

Was hoping Lucas would get a runout yesterday against the little chief, alas he didn't.

Seems our sponsorship with Carlsberg is coming to an end. Gillett is going to be announcing our new sponsor on Fridady (18th Sept).

George Gillett has confirmed that the club is to announce a new shirt sponsor on September 18th.

Liverpool's relationship with Carlsberg is coming to an end and it would appear that a replacement has been chosen.

Gillett said: "I think people will be pleased and surprised. It will be one of the great, worldwide corporations. And I think it will be a sponsor people will be pleased and surprised to be [associated with] Liverpool."
Been reading that our new sponsor will be Standard Chartered. The Times reported that our new sponsorship deal is 80m over 4 years.

                  A fan mock-up image.

Boring looking, but for almost 3 times as much as we were getting off Carlsberg, they can print what they like, to be honest.

My cynical side thinks it's also very convenient to make the change a few weeks into the season after everyones already bought their replica kits...

                      Need money, innit?

I think our Carlsberg sponsorship end mid 2010.

                        Got that one right!

Will Statler & Waldorf allow Rafa to have any considerable majority of that cash to build and develop the first XI and squad? I think we all know the answer to that one.

To be honest though, having a beer company as a sponsor in recent times does seem a little irresponsible. I welcome the change.
