Why does Joe Cole always look like Captain Black? With gaunt shadowed eyes? Is he also a mysteron?

He doesn't have the best playing face no. Lampard has a picking-his-nose-with-his-tongue face too. Maybe you should start a blog.

I also believe that Tevez may not be the sexiest beast to ever walk the planet!

How could you so quickly forget Ian Dowie!

Not seen TV footage, but thought the Cole red was harsh. Challenge looked no worse than Rosicky's or Wilshere's.
Did the team some good though as I thought Cole was pretty awful. Not sure this central role suits him, against the top teams anyway. Early days though I guess.

                Otherwise, some encouraging performances.
Kuyt is clearly part machine, long world cup campaign hasn't effected him at all, was excellent imo.
Despite my fears, Gerrard played a very mature, controlled game in the middle.
Ngog definitely has something about him, cracking finish even if Almunia could've done better.
And Mascherano showed what a good pro he is, good performance for a guy who is obviously not happy in England.

A little concerned about the team shape.
The defence was a very flat line of 4, the full backs look to be playing a good 15-20 yards deeper when we had the ball than we would've done last season.
And the midfield was similar, a flat 4 compared to the 2-3 split from previous seasons - gives your number 9 a lot of work to do out wide I think, although Ngog did really well and covered a lot of ground.

                Felt good to be back

                  So...Brad Jones.

If we're as skint as it seems, WTF are we doing buying another keeper.
Purely to add to the home-grown quota of the squad?

I know Cavalieri wanted to go back home to Brazil, but meh, I'd sooner give the number 2 spot to Gulacsi who is very promising.

The Boro fans are hanging out the flags too. My missus can't believe it and some bloke on the radio the other day said he would be happy if Boro paid Liverpool 2mill to take him.

I'm travelling up to Liverpool on Thursday to see the Trabzonspor match, could anyone recommend a place to park? I've heard its best to park in the town centre and get a cab out. That sound about right?

It'll be my first time to Anfield, never had a chance to go before so I'm looking forward to it.

The best places to park used to be the side streets off Priory Road, but they are all resident permit holders only now.

Other than that, the Docker's Club on Townsend Lane is normally used as a carpark, think it's ?5 and is about a 10 minute walk to the ground.

North Liverpool Academy carpark is much closer (on Utting Ave.) but I think it is ?10 looked like they are having building work done or something when I walked past at the weekend, so it may well be closed at the moment.

There are quite a few others dotted around, the school at the end of Walton Breck Road is normally used and if you are feeling dirty I think you can still park at Goodison Park for about ?8.

Town plus cab is probably a decent idea, although I've no idea how easy getting a cab back will be after the match.

Cheers, I was worried about getting a cab back from Anfield after the match.

I'll take a drive around when I arrive, see if anyone is offering match day parking I suppose. Should be an excellent night.

I would try and get there reasonably early if you are parking near-ish the ground and try and make a quick get away at the end.

                            Where are you sitting?

Lower Centenary. Off to the side in KG, but its better than sitting at home, I hope.

I used to find the parking on the bit of wasteland on St Domingo's Road on the Everton Valley Road side to be pretty good. I haven't used it in a while, but it's not far from the ground, never too bad to get out of, and fairly cheap. Enjoy.
