...and it gets better - Agger out for the rest of the season and Johnson almost certainly out as long too.

Getting any sort of result against al-Citeh this weekend will be a serious achievement at this rate.

As a Spurs fan, I'm delighted at that first half - brilliant performance from Liverpool. However, I'm also remembering that Spurs still have to go to Anfield....

Yeah, on this form it looks like it's gonna be sodding tough match up there. We need to think about catching City though so this would be great if Liverpool keep it up. Don't wanna wish injury on anyone but Tevez going off could be a huge blow for City if he's out long term.

I thought we did well yesterday but Newcastle passed better and held the ball in midfield better than we did.
Never felt threatened by their attacks though and Suarez was persistent but still needs to gel better.

Citeh winning last night ends hopes of 4th, but 5th has to be ours if we don't screw up against Fulham!

Incredible to see Liverpool rise up the table so well. They are doing it with some lovely football too. Can't help but feel Gerrard being out has allowed the team to flow better. Suarez is a joy to watch and Kuyt it leading the line so well.

I agree. I think Gerrard coming back in will disrupt a good thing going on. Ahhh, remember when we were a one or two man team the other week?

You were, and perhaps that was the problem. Gerrard being out has given the others in the squad a chance to step out of the shadow and into the forefront. They had almost no expectation to do as well as they have done, certainly not with non Liverpool fans but they have more than done that.
