Although I do think Rafa has to stop throwing his toys out of the pram all the time. We have a good squad and can't just sign players every window.

I don't think Rafa is blameless in this (he shouldn't have made his views on G&H so public last week) but the more I think about it, the more I believe in what he's saying. I think he's a brilliant manager, and is building a squad that could win the league. If G&H are stupid enough to get rid of him then it doesn't bode well for the future of the club under their ownership.

Rafa is not blameless but I guess he sees this as the way to do it. I think most fans agree with what he wants if not the way of doing it.
I think we have to get people in at every window if the players are there. Think about it, the situation Rafa is talking about is the Mascherano one from last season. On a free but it required work. That is why it has to be discussed.

We still actually need to BEAT Marseille I believe as otherwise they would be ahead of us. Besiktas can go through too if they beat Porto. I think a draw at Marseille would see us on the same pints but them to go through.

Rafa made some odd choices again tonight, replaced a striker with a winger when they were drawing then put a third striker on when they were 3-1 up. But it worked and they won...as it does more often than not, hes weird but his weirdness seems to win games so I think people should lay off him personaly.

It was the game against Marseille that has put us in this ridiculous position.

Not that odd as subs go. I don't think you should look at the player but more where he played.
Kewell came on for Voronin almost like for like (but not anonymous...) but dragged the game a little wider. He was pretty central though.
Crouch came on for Yossi. Goal needed but then Kewell goes a little deeper - 2 up front.
Kuyt came on for Babel to run the midfield down and for some confidence minutes.
Formation changed slightly but only a bit and noone was out of postion except maybe Babel...

Fluidity of formation seems a little underrated in this country.

Phwoo, I thought we got away with that a bit last night. Good opening 15mins, good last 15 mins, but could not pass the ball for love nor money in between. Let Porto right back into it, and they looked dangerous on the break after they equalised. Torres just takes us up another level - he needs to start every game, tbh.
