      We want 10!

        Will we make it though?
Marseille WILL have 10 points going into the final game.
        Besiktas will have 3. Porto....
If we win, theyll have 8 - us on 7. As besiktas will prolly get no more points - we need to win BOTH games I think.

        Some good goals though!

Great night I had last night. Got a Champions Club ticket through work (as they're a sponsor), got there for 5.30pm, was fed, entertained by turkish dancers and access to free bars Watched the game from the centre of the centenary stand where the view was feckin marvelous. Like Pro Evo vision it was

Saw 8 goals and went the bar at halftime and full. I'm a bit hung over now. Brilliant.

A truly superb goal by him - the way Torres took it down was really a different class.

We have been utter **** for 2 months now. 3 points behind....(though arse do have a game in hand).

Exactly. Normally at this stage we're about 10+ points behind the rest, but this season we're right up there, with our best form still to come

So, all these rumblings about Rafa?

I?m a Rafa fan, but after spending ?40m+ in the summer, I don?t think it?s unreasonable of the owners to ask him to wait until December before they sit down and discuss any potential January transfers. I just hope this doesn?t unsettle the team ? we looked like we were finding a little bit of form before the international break, and it would be a shame to screw it all up again.

                        Couldn't agree with you more.

Although the papers are stirring again I think (hope)...

Papers stirring. Though, surely it is a good ideea, ifmoney is to be spent, to actually plan that outlay in advance. I understand that there is some reticence to sign Javier as it is a lot of cash at £17m. He is great and almost certainly worth that on the open market but it is a lot. And, frankly, if I was spending £17m on our team, not sure central midfield would be the first place to spend it....

If you take away money generated from sales (£25m) and the Champions League money from last season, Tom and George haven't spent a great deal of their own cash on transfers. In fact, it's fairly close to none...

And as for papers stirring? Have you guys seen the footage or read the transcript of the press conference? Seen Hick's quotes in today's Echo?

“We now have some crucial games coming up in the Premier League and the Champions League and we want to see if we can win these games with the players we have.

“This was the message we gave to Rafa recently and I think during the international break he must have grown a bit frustrated about this.

“We told him to concentrate on the games coming up and nothing else and I guess he didn’t like that."

Starting to look very similar to Rafa's final months at Valencia...

Rafa going would be bad enough, but I'm worried that the likes of Pepe, Alonso and Torres would want out too.

Those are some dodgy quotes. I was always reticent about Hickette coming in. We'll be OK though. Maybe Stevie will get dropped from England and be rested for us! Wonder if McClaren wishes he hadn't done Wes Brown a ridiculous favour and had Jamie available on Wednesday. I think we should all be aware that Wes Brown caused this for England!
