But thats the point its not one goal isnt enough we showed that tonight we need a more all round player still think Heskeys our best option at the moment just need to keep him fit. Rooney didnt score tonight but ino who id rather was on the pitch tonight out of him or crouch i really dont rate him tbh.

Your statment proves its not about the goals though, it just proves that when crouch plays for a team even if he scores alot it dosent mean they win alot of games. Portsmouth arent exactly having a dream season.

As mentioned already, he dosent relaly add much else besides goals and international players generaly need that extra somthing.

couldnt put it better myself, im mean stats wise terry had an assist for crouch and scored himself, his stats where better but i wouldnt exactly put him upfront with rooney now

Stats definitely do lie when it comes to football, I reckon. There are so many things that stats don't measure like making intelligent runs, closing down space, etc, which make a huge difference to a player's impact on a match.

I don't really like Berbatov, he's no Rudd van , would rather we bought santa cruz.

Torres was injured a lot and even though I like Rooney and van persie, they both should score more goals than they do. Very hot then cold.

Not that I'm saying crouch is better than them guys, but he's better than Heskey, carlton cole and probably bent. Not sure on defoe but a fit owen and rooney would only be better than crouch for me.

I think it's a sad state of affairs when you have the likes of Heskey & Crouch as main England strikers. It's sad, crazy and funny, all at the same time.

I don't like Rooney. He's a moron thug. I will always feel that way - even if he scores a few goals. When I see him play for England - I don't see a great player. He's quite emabarassing at times. If he wasn't a Man.utd player - I doubt his profile would be so high.

Anyway, I never expect amazing things from England. We have a few good players, but not enough to make us a great team.

Just to clarify, I wasn't slagging off Crouchy earlier, I actually wouldn't mind him turning up at Spurs next season. My point was that you can't just go on stats to judge how good a player is.
