Well, 4-2 at home. That's a ringsmashing in my books.

not seen the Emirates goal yet from Everton but seems some debate about technicality of phases of play blah waffle mumble, in old money seems no debate he was offside.
wish David Moyes (and all bitter post match whiners include Arsene) would shut up, to say Fabregas having a go at HT to the ref changed the match sounds like utter drivel, not read anything saying our goals were because of the ref caving in.
good to see a bit of grit from us before our capitulation to Barca and inevitable caving in the league after that.

The timing was bad as you were up against 3 players who wanted to ensure that they're still going to be getting regular football after this game.
As for the Everton offside goal, it was technically the right decision from what I've heard (haven't seen it). Ball was played forward with a player in an offside position. A defender went for the ball and made contact, the ball then got to the player who was no longer offside as it came off of a deliberate kick from the defender.
It's the whole active/inactive thing coming up again. No one would've complained (for long) if it had been given offside.

Just listened to the Stoke-Sunderland game on 5 live. FFS.
2-1 up with ten minutes to go, it's a strategy of sit back and defend for Magboss. So Stoke just ramp up the long balls, long throws, and other such crimes against football they've used all game, and grab an equalising goal from that plank Carew (or so the radio said - now it was Huth according to bbc website). That was possibly offside and a handball. From a free kick that was a dive. Brilliant. There was only one way this was going. A bundled last minute winner from another big plank (or the same one - confusion reigns). Defeat snatched from victory, thanks to Sunderland's piss poor tactics, Stoke's tenacity and ****e refereeing.
Somewhere up on a Biblical mountain is a tablet. Etched into it is this truth:
And The Lord Said That Stoke Shall Always Beat Sunderland At Home, And That A Big Plank Will Always Score A Couple.
And so it came to pass.Last edited by prinnysquad; 05-02-2011, 14:02.
