Dare I ask why you comment about it, then?

I asked a question about it. Care to answer it?

Not particularly, considering that I'd only be answering to somebody who has admitted that they dislike Kenny Dalglish for no obvious reason. I just find it hilarious that you try to play down his achievements as Liverpool manager first time around, and then contradict yourself in the very same post by admitting you know nothing about what he did in his first spell at the club (Pro tip: Try reading up about it?).

Funny you mention inheriting already amazing teams, though - your beloved Hodgson inherited pretty bloody good sides at Inter & Blackburn Rovers (Walker-era, core of title-winning side built by Dalglish, ironically), only to win nothing at the former and nearly relegate the latter. Ho hum.

You have a rather hilarious chip on your shoulder.

The season before Hodgson took over Blackburn they had finished 2 points above the relegation zone, I don't think you could still call them a pretty bloody good side at that point.

Inter were decent but average when Hodgson took them over (after they'd suffered a terrible start to the season) and he stabilised them to come 7th and then in his only full season finished 3rd, their first top three finish for four seasons.

I think his time with Inter is underrated personally. His second season with Blackburn was a complete disaster though.

I took your advice and tried reading about it. Here's what I found out. The season before Hodson was appointed, Blackburn had finished 13th, having been winless and bottom at one point in October. The season before that, they had finished 7th. I don't think anyone would argue that he was anything approaching a success there, but to argue that he had inherited a pretty bloody good side is not true. Batty, Hendry, Shearer and Le Saux, all key players in the Championship winning side, were not available to him.

Inter had finished 13th and 6th the two seasons before Hodgson took over. He finished 7th and 3rd, and the 7th is misleading, as he was only brought in after a terrible start to the season. He also got them to the final of the UEFA Cup, in which their defeat was admittedly a shock, but was an improvement on the previous two seasons.

I have only calmed down enough now to speak about Sunday. I watched the match with my dad, both of us life long city fans. Got the vodka out after our first goal then started drowning my sorrows at 2-1 down. In 89th minute I was in shock. Couldn't begin to think about facing united supporting friends ever again. When Aguero scored I hit the roof and started crying like a baby. My dad was talking away but I couldn't form a word. Craziest 5 minutes I ever experienced

A statement hilarious in itself when taken into account just who that comes from.

                  Ironic.

Not really. I don't like Dalglish, that much is clear but i'm not ignorant enough to deny what a brilliant player he was. His attitude over the past season though, has often been disgusting and he hasn't covered himself in glory.

I don't pretend to be hugely informed of his first stint as Liverpool manager, that is why I asked the question. Yes I could have researched it but then it would completely take the need of conversation out of it, I like conversation.

You paint a wonderful stereotype of Liverpool fans though.

Kenny Dalglish gone from Liverpool, apparently. Sky Sports News say that the club are about to release a statement.

Seems to be true, it's on the BBC web site now.

He's got a job for life with the BNP, at least.

Will go down as a mixed bag for the fans, but I can't help but feel a little relieved. I believe all managers should get a fair chance to build, but I never felt Kenny was the right man for the job. Mourinho please. lol

Who do you want to see replace him Hoolak?

I'm not sure I have enough info on Roberto Martinez. Done a good job with minimum funds at Wigan, but I like to think we can lure winning experienced manager. Maybe I'm dreaming. But I'd take Mourinho if he decides to jib Real for a mad reason :d

                              Pep?

Face it, Hoolak.... it's gonna be big Sam

Pep's having a year off, ain't gonna happen.

Who's out of work at the moment? Mick McCarthy? Steve Kean can't have much time left at Blackburn and that won't be too bad a commute. McLeish?
