Its a done deal as of now. He wants to work with Wenger, and ofcourse wants the salary, nearly double the amount he used to get in Madrid.

Brilliant signing for Arsenal, they might have the best midfield now. Its not like Ozil wasn't good enough for Real (I think hes their best midfielder in fact) but Perez needed some cash back. And Isco is doing a good job right now, being a Spaniard and all.

Arsenal strikeforce is still just... 'meh' as Reggie would put it.

Yeah Giroud is doing awful and Walcott didn't score at all last season.

Unlucky for them the Higuain deal fell through. I wouldn't be so unhappy about Di Maria or Benzema not coming. The first is a diver and the second always looks as if hes totally not interested.

The Higuain deal was a huge loss to Arsenal and the EPL.

Didn't want to post this in the United thread as to not be accused to baiting/trollling but....Anyone else think United have spectacularly failed in this window? They have signed a player who a month or so ago would have cost 4-5mil cheaper and Moyes knew that. Its clearly a panicked signing to get at least somebody through the door.

To me, it stinks of somebody in the club dragging their heels. Either they arent willing to give Moyes the financial backing or the negotiator for transfers is complacent and needs replacing. Some very high profile targets never materialised, Moyes must be incredibly frustrated.

Man United certainly gave me a good laugh on Twitter!

the probelm is an english club to english club transcation is always more money, clubs dont want to sell , But 27 for him is a lot when you think Van persie was 24 million, what a bargain that was. but at least hes settlled in england already and lives in the area, so he will slot straight in, where as all of spurs foreign signings look like strangers, kagawa struggles , i feel you need to speak the langauage as well. so he could still turn out to be a good signing

Since Gill left and Woodward took over we seem to have stumbled horribly, wether it turns out to be a minor blip or the sign of things to come who knows.
Paying 5 million over his release clause last month just goes to show to me that he wasn't the top transfer target at all and was a deadline panic buy. Good player, nice addition to the squad but expensive.

Van Persie had only a year left in his contract. Its actually a ridiculous amount of money for a player with such a contract. Imagine if he had 3 years left, then he would've cost over 70 million.

But yeah English clubs seem to overdo it. Didn't Liverpool pay like 35 million pounds for that Carroll dude? Its ridiculous because you can grab a Higuain, Suarez, Ozil, Falcao for that amount of money. And the difference is that those players are world class.

Liverpool managed to waste the amazing fee they got for Torres. Arguably the worst bit of business ever.

Last day of the window panic buying in LFC's defence really.
Saying that we have written off ?35M on the the two players sold to West Ham alone this year. Bosh.

Well what a load of ****e that window was for us. We've lost three of our four best players and replaced them with kids, dross, never-weres and dour farts. Everyone else seems to have strengthened, but our squad is now completely and utterly hideous to behold.

We desperately need 2 quality midfielders and a decent left back. It just hasn't happened. The Liverpool mush is a forward on loan, and that Napoli dude was terrible when he was over here. The Swansea lad is about 5th choice at his parent club.

So that's no quality left back, more loan players, resulting in a lack of continuity and squad building (don't we ever learn?) and Sessegnon sold. Great business!!! Short is slowly turning us into Wigan - sell the assets and buy on the cheap. Or the Mags. Problem with that is, every year you need a slightly greater managerial miracle to stay up.

The sole bright spot is the complete bollock up Old Piss Face has made at the Mags.

Judge me on my signings, he said when appointed. Ok. You're a kernt.

All part of the grand plan for Pardew to flunk, get the boot, and new manager JoeK getting the January war chest.
