Quite pissed off about that torchlight price. All steam seems to be doing is pissing people off with this sale, why sell it one day as if it's going to go back up to full price the next, then put the price down? Really crappy in my opinion. (bought torchlight in the so called "weekend only" offer for £7.99 or whatever it was, which it's worth, but this sort of thing just stands to piss off customers).

Same here. I can't remember the last time I bought anything at full price on steam because it's pretty much guaranteed to be on offer at some point, or else they'll slash the price after a few months anyway. Plus with all the weekend deals and specials that they have, I've already got a massive backlog, so I'm quite happy to play the waiting game.

Decided that any games I do want, ill put into my shopping cart - if the deals pop up I'll buy them, if they don't - I leave them.
Charlaph - I'd agree with you, but then I'd look at the fact that mw2 is still one of the highest selling games currently on steam despite the sales/discounts and high price and I'd have to wonder if the amount of steam users who pay a premium will ever go down.

I really like these Steam sales. They chuck so much at you, you're spoilt for choice - and can easily end up buying stuff you'd otherwise skip. Which surely is the point of a sale?
As has been pointed out though, it means I'd never buy anything at the regular price. Exercise a little patience, and you can get what you want cheap
If only Live and PSN done similar bargain basement sales

Picked up the Orange box even though I own the set on Xbox and Half-Life 2 on PC from when it first came out. Thinking about Burnout Paradise and Bioshock (which they added when they ran out of Portal keys.) but again, I own them on the 360 so not sure if there's really any point in getting them again.

Steam sales in general have been a lifesaver for me. Being a student, it's incredibly hard to justify buying a full price title. But when you can pick up relatively-reccent AAA titles for under a fiver with their weekend and mid-week deals, it means I can still get some gaming without it hurting the wallet too much.
I've been quite well behaved with the latest lot of deals. Bought GTA4, Stalker, Dead Space and Bioshock for insane prices (already got Mirror's Edge in an earlier Steam offer, or I'd of bought that too), and I figured it worth paying £1.24 for Outrun 2006 to save having to use the disc again. I'm going to be picking up Assassin's Creed: Director's Cut and Stalker: Clear Sky before the deals are up, but I'm gonna wait and see if Assassin's Creed gets a further cut first.
Resisting Burnout Revenge, which I might regret but I can't see myself playing it for more than 10 minutes. I'm hoping Mass Effect appears on there for ~£5.
