'One remote to rule them all'
Controls up to 12 devices, I currently have 6 remotes in front of me right now, and a 7th on the way with my new amp, so this would turn them all obsolete!
Flick of one button, say 'Play Xbox' and it turns on your 360, puts your TV on to the right input, and powers up your amp to the right input for your 360 and off you go!
Its well worth it if you ask me!!

As posted before it can take numerous tweeks before it recognizes your particular model and the software is kinda slow and cumbersome but once sorted it's an invaluable piece of kit.
I've got the cheaper Harmony 525 remote and i think it's got pretty much everthing that the 360 one has (apart from the specific 360 buttons) and is less than half the price.

automated house would be 'the ****' though, less the vcr.hmm, may look into getting one of these then though i've only got 3 remotes and can get anything running with less than 3 button presses. i quite enjoy talking myself out of spending money
.
remote vs more games... hmm.
