I can usually accept a slight border on Pal conversions, but this has massive borders on all sides, it has to be the worst conversion I have ever seen. My condolences on your purchase.

I bought the Korean Version from Play-Asia, which was only slightly better, so I dumped it straight away, and am now trying to get the Saturn versions back.

I actually hadn't played it when I posted that, "I figured hey a Psikyo smup for 8 quid, not bad" after playing it for about 5 minutes & seeing how badly bordered it was I quickly went back to Gradius V. I'm not gonna cry over ?8, can always use it in Game's 5 game trade in deal.

Erh, why in the world are you complaining about "borders on all sides" on a VERTICAL shooter? Sure, it sucks that there are borders at the top and at the bottom of the screen, but complaining about borders on the sides of the screen shows how little you know about videogames/vertical shooters.

Some poorly coded PAL conversions do have side borders though. PS1 Final Fantasy 6 is a case in point.

Is this patronising/overblown statement aimed at me?

I'm not complaining about side borders,the PAL 1945 collection has no 60 htz option & has not been optimised whatsoever, as a result it has horrible borders at the top and bottom of the screen. I own a number of vertical shooters namely Dodonpachi DOJ, Psyvariar Complete,Psyvariar 2, Gunbird 2, Gigawing & Ikaruga so I'm more than aware that these games have side borders unless you put them in tate mode (and I don't fancy sitting a widescreen TV on it's side, no matter how tempting it is).

Dont know if this has been posted but - GAME are doing a five games for brand new one offer - similar to the 4 games and 1pound for a brand new game - but you dont pay anything. Only seen it down Harrow though.
