Espgaluda 2 Xbox 360 Platinum re-release region free!
Over the last couple of years Cave have dabbled in releasing some of their Xbox 360 shooters without any form of region locking and whilst great for importers lacking a Japanese machine it does have the unfortunate side effect of keeping the prices jacked high for the rest of us. Fortunately, yet another of these titles has now joined the Platinum Collection club over in Japan, and we can confirm that, much like it's sibling Mushihimesama Futari which both featured region locked special editions,... -

Sony at E3 2011 - A Conference Summary
A light-hearted look at Sony's E3 conference... After a short delay while Sony recovered their presentation from hackers, the conference began at shortly before half past one. Jack Tretton was first on stage and spoke about an elephant in the room; there’s a joke to be made there about certain game developers but I’m not going to make it and you’re a terrible person for thinking it. He began with an apology about the recent PSN outages without mentioning the word “hacking” and it was ... -

Robinson's Requiem released for the Atari Jaguar CD
Thanks to the tireless work of one Carl Forhan, the owner of Songbird Productions, the Atari Jaguar has enjoyed a new lease of life over the last twelve years. Through securing the rights to unfinished games and putting that final polish necessary before release, Songbird have provided not only some very enjoyable gaming experiences but also released some of the most technically impressive titles the platform has been home to, such as the Blade-Runner esque 3D shooter Skyhammer and the ridiculously... -

Sony's Security Disaster: What next?
Following their disastrous handling of the loss of 77m of their customers’ personal details, passwords, and mother’s maiden names, new details are emerging about how Sony plans to secure their crippled PlayStation Network.
Hackers broke in to Sony’s network last week, leading to the company pulling their service offline and the loss of the data. The data loss came after the notepad file that all the information was kept in was accessed by the hackers, after they broke through Sony’s ... -

Nintendo Security Risk identified
It seems Sony are not alone in the world of compromised gaming platforms. A massive security hole has been discovered in Nintendo's online infrastructure. In an exclusive interview with a member of the hacking group 'faceless' NTSC-UK have discovered just how easy it is for a hacker to cause devastation to Nintendo users:
Faceless hacker: Yeah, everyone thinks Nintendo's systems are secure due to the use of friend codes and now, with the 3ds, console codes but they really aren't ... -

Nintendo's New Console: All that We Know
With yesterday’s news that Nintendo will be unveiling their next console at E3, NTSC-UK can exclusively reveal a number of exciting details about the console. We spoke with a source, who is very close to Satoru Iwata, and got the inside scoop about everything you’ll need to know about the Wii’s successor. “Project café is a red herring,” he told us. “That’s the name of an actual café that Nintendo is building close to its headquarters in Japan.” He went on to tell us that t... -

Nintendo 3DS Hardware Review
Seeing is believing. That is what Nintendo have been telling us for the last few months, but now that the hardware is available in all major territories we can finally see for ourselves if and how a portable system can create 3D images in front of our very eyes. The 3DS is both an evolution of an existing success story and revolution in terms of what it could offer gamers. When the original DS launched it was referred to as the ‘Third Pillar’ of Nintendo’s handheld strategy. It was so u... -

Ikenie no Yoru (Nintendo Wii) arrived from Play-Asia (Night of the sacrifice)
Ikenie no Yoru arrived in the post from Play-Asia. It came with a surpise official pendant. Ikenie no Yoru is a horror game (stabbing and ghosts according to the cero images on the back!) by Marvelous Entertainment Inc., for the Nintendo Wii.
Unusually it allows you to use the Wii's Balance Board to get your feet involved in the action, although it's optional. There's a co-op mode too.
My First Play impressions will be documented in the Forum. Here's the ...

Appearing recently on digital storefronts, this digital exhibition coincides with the 20th anniversary re-release and bringing together of Radiohead's Kid A and Amnesiac albums. It's been made in collaboration between the band and Epic Games, though it's also very quick to tell you that it is not a game, epic or otherwise. That, I think, is a mixture of nervous expectation-setting, alongside its creators selling both games, and what they've created, short.
Unless you're one of those sorts...-

by Charles ROnce upon a time, there was a Freeloader. It was late, as usual, but everyone waited with baited breath, because it promised much.
And so it came to pass, the Freeloader finally arrived, and oh what gifts it brought. The ability to de-zone everyone's Gamecubes. Finally, an easy (and cheap) way for anyone in the world to play games from anywhere else in the world. It was welcomed with open arms.
Datel, after many delays, have now released their de-zoning disc. Twice. The f...-

by ArchivesDescribing the greatness of Goldeneye isn't the easiest task in the world. If you were to show it to a gamer who has recently been showered with PC First Person Shooters such as Far Cry, then they'd scoff at the low-polygon landscapes, the poor digitised textures of Robbie Coltrane and the frame rate equivalent to the IQ of a table leg. They'd be missing the point though, as levels such as "Surface" are the forebears to Far Cry's grand vistas.
Which leads us nicely into one of the reaso...-

by ArchivesAs a first visit to any kind of games show, it was going to be very interesting to see what all the fuss was about. I remember reading about the Tokyo Game Show among other shows in magazines years back and having a sense of delight and amazement. Did you ever dream of going to a game show in Japan? I'm sure it's something most avid gamers can associate with. On Sunday the 28th of September, my wife and I headed towards Makuhari messe from western Tokyo, a journey of 2 hours. When we finally ...
