I bought a house in the intial hicktown area in the badlands.

CJ is now a proud afro-wearing redneck.

Guess what I found up Mt. Chiliad? Slight Spoiler: Thousands of feet up at the summit (I climbed off the path), I stumble on a moutain bike... Getting on, the game switches to a racing challenge, where you have to compete in a race at amazing speed all the way downhill on a mountain bike to get to the bottom. After seeing the top of the mountain and scaling back down in a couple of minutes, I'm a bit awed.

The game just keeps throwing more and more stuff to do. I finished 5th (after falling off a couple of times), but now I'm tempted to climb all the way back up and try again.

There's also another court I found in Las Santos where you can take part in a time trial challenge. I've hit 28 hoops so far.

Quick bit of advice needed from all you fellas that are pretty far in please.

              Without spoiling hopefully.

But I have just got on to the 2nd state and returned for some gang warfare but my gangs gone is this because of the last bit of story I did? and does the possibility for warefare come back? No biggie I know but it's bugging me.

Yeah it's because of the story you did but yes there will be an opportunity for more gang warfare later on

Actually, I hate all those games you just mentioned.
And not because I can't relate to them, its because I dont like them as games. (I think theyre pants to be honest, especially Halo, but thats another debate altogether)

Secondly, I do have some fairly amazing worldy experiences, if you care to hear my extensive and unusual life story, we can continue this via PM Mr Popo.

To add more confusion to the mix, my personal favourite game this console generation has to be Katamari Damashii. And no, I am not a 3 inch spaceman who has a magnetic ball. But I play that for a different reason to why I played Vice City. In VC I loved the ambiance, Id often load it up and drive around doing nothing, or watch the views, it was the immersion.

KD I play because I enjoy the surreal gameplay.

Now, when I had a go on SA, while the gameplay may be excellent, I was put off by the ambiance, or non-gameplay content, whatever you want to call it. And the next person who calls me racist for NOT LIKING THE DAMNED AMBIANCE deserves a kick in the backside.

And no, I do not speak like they do in SA, and neither do I like it.
Other people have complained of the dialogue and got away with it, yet I am deemed a racist. heh, bigotry goes both ways Im sure you'll find.

Well too bad, because I can pick and choose what styles of speech I prefer. And if I dont like the dialogue, or anything else about the SA content, thats my perogative. I wont be buying it, and so long as no one else tries to corner and accuse me of rascism, I will leave this topic.

Since you all clearly like this game, and being the overly nice friendly person that I am, I do not wish to disturb your discssions on it. 8)

                  ciao people

Bought this today based solely on what's been said in this thread, and I am liking it so far. It seems very polished (in terms of content) but still has a few niggles from the previous GTA's. Things such as managing to do something wrong that's not really your fault (attacking a pedestrian or whatever), you get 1 star, and this gradually escalates into a big chase culminating in death. I was just doing the grafiti mission and didn't really have a clue what was going on, but in the end I managed to get shot by a policeboat after driving off a railway bridge into some kind of lake or river.

                      Still, pretty fun

did the gas station explode or only the fbi car?

When i first got this i thought, it was just like the previous ones and a bit meh.
...But now.....holy cow this game rocks.
All the character customization, and when the gang territorial warfare started, it all click and i can't believe how good it is.

Only thing is my PS2 ( feb 2002) is strugling with this all the texture disapear when i go too fast and sometimes the whole road.

Heh I'd always wondered why the Mad Max licence had never been used. Would make a great game [if dont correctly].

Anyway imagine the bush/outback in Aus land. Twould be great. I'd also like to see some actual wildlife...I've not seen any in SA, and it definately seems to be missing. How I'd love to go on a hunting mission!
