Been playing this for around 3 hours now and after getting used to the inverted camera controls i`m really starting to enjoy it. The gameplay is pretty much the same as the others so far and i can`t say i`m that keen on the aditional elements like building your character up. Saying that i quite like the idea of buying food to replenish your health, then hitting the running machine to burn of the calories (might get quite annoying after abit though).
As for the missions well they start of a little simple but this is to get you into the swing of things and after about a hour or so start to get very interesting. They also offer variety depending on which character you take them from.
Have to say i love some of the music especially on the house station with a guy called gerald, marshall jefferson, the todd terry project, some very nice tunes indeed. As for the story and setting well i`m liking it but then again i was always a fan of boyz in the hood, juice, new jack city those sort of films in the early nineties.
Graphically while not much different from vice city is still slightly better and is far better looking and smoother than driver 3 and then again we don`t play the gta series for it`s high end graphics do we? A gripe i do have with it though is the map screen where your always having to go to start-map all the time to find your homepoint as it isn`t very defined on the small game map. Is there a way at zooming your map while playing as i recall you could on vice city?
One thing that concerns though is will the size of the levels go against this game because san andreas is huge compared to the previous outings which means it might be a struggle to memorize your environment. Where with vice city while reasonably big, it was never to big so you couldn`t remember places. We will have to wait and see.
Edit apoligies if anyone struggled reading my post think i had abit to much to drink last night. Have corrected it now though.

Originally posted by Durham RedActually, I was disappointed looking at the cast list - despite seeing names like Sam Jackson, James Woods, Peter Fonda, Ice-T and so on, there was no sign of Brian Cox (I'm sure it had been stated in one article that the great man Starkweather had a cameo in this)
Anyway, apart from a few annoying missions (Robbing Uncle Sam - bastard forklifts and national guard gubbins; and the one where you chase the train on the bike but invariably fail because Big Smoke is such a lousy shot), I've had a great time so far. I've spent a few 'hours' in the gym and turned CJ into a brick ****house who looks like Thierry Henry in Snake Plissken fancy dress. Wicked.
I'm ten hours in (5% complete) and and yet I feel like I've barely scratched the surface. The amount of choice and freedom is gob-smacking. I know I've said that already but I'll say it again - It's highly impressive.
I especially loved the DDR lowrider contest. Very lush.Last edited by Concept; 30-10-2004, 07:18.

Yep, the level of customisation on CJ alone is mind boggling.
And when you think that you can customise cars too ( going to go and Pimp my low rider in a minute - MTV eat your heart out ) it gets even better.
The only problem is I keep running out of cash, which was much more abundant in the other games
