Finished the entire game on legendary the other night - not worth the three days it took tbh.

Glad it's out the way though, can concentrate on much more worthy things now.

Damnation was very good, but the other two? Seriously?

It was all about Hang Um High, the best Rockets map ever (Midship is a close second!)

Just finished the first level on Legendary, I found it harder to do then the entirety of Halo. Especially that second hanger, I still start shaking everytime I think of all those elites coming out of that landing craft, they just don't ever seem to stop.
Feel pretty satisfied now, hopefully the rest will be abit easier, thats the general opinion anyway. The second level hasn't been too bad, though I've caught the jackels pulling some pretty fancy battle formations, I can't remember them doing that on heroic.

I personally found the second level on Heroic extremely hard (not to mention bloody frustrating) because of those bastard snipers.

I can't imagine playing it on Legendary.

Are either of those the huge snow level cos that level was by far the best level in Halo for Multiplayer. They better get a download for it soon

eh? Heroic aint hard at all. I loved those snipers, had to do some serious planning before i took them out. I gave my marine a sniper and i battled the ground troops.

I found it hard, when I gave the sniper to the marine he lasted all of 10 seconds and showed absolutely no AI.

I still haven't completed it, I just can't handle 10-20 hour session any more. 30 minutes and I need a break. I can still throw in a few hours with the online play (rather odd)

Anyhow, I tend to agree with what people have said previously, ye can run through the checkpoints if you feel that way inclined. It doesn't always work, but when it does, it detract's the overall quality of the game.

I try to draw enemy sniper towards me, my Marine then takes care of the rest. If im down on health i simply take cover, chuck a grenade infront of me giving me some valuble seconds to recover (no enemys press foward when i throw grenades in their path)

My marine behaves intelligently, huging walls, taking cover when low on health, he even called for me to cover him. Amazing

On Legendary the snipers generally kill you in one shot, I think that has to be a little unbalanced, surely keeping the two hit death found in the heroic would have been better as it gives you a chance to repay the favour. Otherwise its mostly a case of just learning where they are until you can get them before they get you. I do think this detracts from an otherwise fine experience.
Generally I do prefer playing on legendary, but only after I had completed once on heroic I'm not that sadistic. It tends to make you use the levels and weapons more effectively as any move from behind cover is risky and it certainly gets the adrenalin going. On heroic I find it a bit too tempting to just run around all guns blazing.
So far it does seem to get a bit easier after the first level, bigger weapons and more fellow helpers.
The marine snipers and rockets are a godsend, going across the bridge in the scorpion with two marines with rockets and one with a sniper rifle, the covenent didn't stand a chance.

Just finished this on Heroic and I really, really loved the whole experience - even the ending as well... [spoilerific] which does give off the impression that another level would be forthcoming, but I liked the bit after the credits finished rolling with Gravemind slowly taking over the Covenant Temple, asking Cortana to answer it's questions.[/spoilerific]

Finished it today and gotta say I agree bleeders. I enjoyed the ending and loved the end fight. Finished it on heroic but doubt Ii'ill finish it all on Legendary. Some bits were tough going enough on heroic to be fun on legendary.

Finally got round to finishing this tonight. Not the worst ending I've sat through ( as not much compares to the single text screens of the 8bit days ).

Roll on Halo 3 as I can't wait to see what happens next.
