Am interested to know how this runs in comparison to PS2 incarnation which I have been faithful to since the beginning. Thinking about getting Magic Box convertor so can utilize the perfect Dual shock butto nset-up. Anyone use this just now??

Am still on the fence as to whether or not to convert and need help from my NTSC partners to decide

Live play is the bottom line but want to know that it runs good and works well with the Magic Box.

From my quick go at work yesterday it is the exact same game as the PS2 Pro Evo 4, minus the slowdown.
Which in my eyes is ideal, as all I wanted was the PS2 with Live Play.

Regarding the Magic Box, it works flawlessly. Not tried it online yet, but offline play with the Magicbox is sweet. You can alter the config of the pad so that it's very similar to the PS2 setup. The only downside is the lack of voices with it, but you can't have everything.

Yes, Magicbox is absolutely fine online chaps. I been using it, no problem what-so-ever.

The Dreambox on the other hand seems to suffer from input lag according to my cousin who has one, be warned.

Am waiting on my copy becoming available ASAP. So hopefully by tomorrow night I will be on live... just need the magic box delivered then I will be good to go. Thik get it from Lik Sang with expressd delivery... any suggestions?

Is there am issue with having to set the team formation, etc up before you go onto live?

Nope, but make sure you stock your formation, tactics etc. before you go online since Live loads the Option File when it connects up.

Lack of voices is referring to the lack of voice comms, since the headset doesn't work with the Magicbox, small price to pay for comfortable controls IMO.

Ah, I see... no voice comms... totally agree, I couldn't play it well with the xbox pad, button config and placement is fooking nightmare!! Need to have the intuitive feel of the Dualshock for PES!!

Think Lik Sang my best bet for expresss delivery. I have had the PS Pro Evo 4 since it was released so will need totrade that in for XBox version.

It's horrible on the XBox pad; the game is hindered by it's design. The only button that cannot be changed when using the PS2 pad is L2. So for pulling off 1/2's, changing player etc, you have to get used to using L2 instead of L1.

Is there no way you can use the Dual Shock via a Magic Box in port 1, and have a standard XBox controller in port 2 with the communicator attached? Does that work?

Just ordered myself the magic box after reading the impressions on here. Now i need to get a new broadband service (is it possible to get one without a PC?) so i can beat some of you losers online!

Agree with the post about about just wanting an online, slowdown free version for the x-box. Should be very nice indeed (although i am hoping some kind soul may be able to sort out an option file thing again before i start a master league)

Now, THAT I think I can manage Checking indie stor for it today... will persevere with XBox pad till can get Magix Box hooked up!! Aint been playin PS2 Pro Evo much cause of Halo 2 and Half Life, which I am sure you can understand.

It's weird. Owen is at Real, but Saviola is still at Barca, Rooney at Everton, so not up-to-date by a long-shot sadly.

I won't be on tonight, but my bruv will be on with my gamertag if any of ya'll fancy a game. He uses AC Milan.

I will be on for some tonight hopefully. Got a convertor from indie store but it aint magic box. It a really simple one for PS2 to XBox only. Get it cinfigured as near as possible and should be good to go!!


Will be trying out Barcelona on the live game so look out for me!!

Just picked up Pro Evo 4 from Currys. Game wouldn't sell it early despite this, so I also picked up a Crystal Xbox on its own. The game packs they had were crap tbh.

My live id is Ascender, so I should be on there tonight. Ir by 3 if I can get out of this meeting early.....
