Actually, what's the best way to improve at PES games? Its all a bit daunting at the moment tbh. Should I just be playing friendlies or the master league for example. Or even just sticking at training and going through the manual.

Match Day on the Speccy was never this difficult...

Haven't had a chance to go online yet - but am absolutely loving PES 4

It's the first game in the series i've played (bar a couple of goes on WE6) and i'm rather suprised how good it is (deep down I was sceptical whether it would be better than ISS 98 )

My advice would be to read the manual, its pretty deep. Lots of things I didnt realise before from just playing.

Shame about the lag online. Had a few games with a stranger tonight and they were very enjoyable, apart from the lag.

The only shame for me is the number of people using a ps2 2 pad and magic box (me included), Its nice t hear the reactions of the other person during the game as long as they are not a nob who just shouts **** down the mic.

Ha, we actually did have headsets on and I was the virtue of reserve, dignity and humility.

I screamed like a big girl about how **** Henry was (seriously, think Angel for Villa against City yesterday- revisedgenocide's miss was that bad) and proceeded to gloat before apologizing to revisedgenocide about my appalling display of bad sportsmanship. Didn't mean it though

What I have tried doing is use the Xbox pad more often purely to sample this kind of atmosphere, especially when playing forum members. Back on tonight, got work during the day.

Yeah that was a good game. I cant resist a cheeky chip or long range effort.

Had some excellent games earlier this evening with random people. Though tbh some people are so shat you wonder why they bother {joke!!}
was having a stunning game earlier, me being arsenal versus man u. beating this guy who decided not to chat, 1-0 till the 80th minute when i backheeled it across my box only for it to be intercepted and for him to score. The first half of extra time was frantic. I was pummeling him with shots but couldnt get one in. During the second half of ET he decided to hoof my players as much as possible resulting in silvestre being sent off. I score from the free kick. I was playing old school ET so there was a few minutes left for me to get another. 3-1 and then with 29.50 minutes of ET gone he dropped from the game
Still a moral victory for me at least.

As a Pro Evo die hard on the PS2 I was reluctant to converting to it on he XBox platform. The temptation of live play was too much and now that I have I have to say... AMAZING!!

Sometimes get dodgy connections in games but when you get a solid connection anda good game there really is nothing better!! Got a pad convertor so can use my PS2 pad on the XBOX and it works like a dream!! Only small change to hte soulder button mapping but THAT I can live with!!

Just beat boy from my work who has been claiming to be the daddy at Pro Evo 4 games on the spin and there is no better feeling!! Wasn't sure about it at first cause initally on live it wasn't working but am glad i pushed thorugh it to get some fantastic matches!!

Will be keeping my copy for the PS2 so can play it my non XBox mates are round but it is such a great game that having it for both machines doesn't feel bad!! XBOX for live play and PS2 for other mates and master league... first class!!

So happy with this on live and G-Funk... am ready whenever you are matey, hehehe!!

Also: We have to do something about folk droping from games!! Playing guy the other night, who beat me 3-0 in first game then we re-matched... I was turning him over 4-0 and he dropped out with 15 minutes to go!! Is embaressing that there are players who do this and should be stopped!!

Im getting to the point now that im actually prefering the xbox pad over the ps2 one for certain functions in the game. not entirely but one or two things are slightly better.
Had some cracking games against Bowser just. Just cant help myself showboating. It doesnt always work but when it does its superb .

I have tried the XBox pad cause I want to be able to chat when playin, but it just dont feel responsive enough when playing... going for the quick passes and the cheeky chip through balls works much better with the converted dual shock, IMO.

Had some great games and some bad ones plagued with lag. Am willing to live with the laggy games cause if you start again you can usually find a better one and a great match. Just want the player dropping out nonsense to stop!! If folk are getting beat they should accept it like a man and not run like a beatch!! Hopefully they will sort this out with an update.

The lag free games are superb and I love the ranking system. Is like a worldwide league... nice!!
