    I hear you RLench, negating the fact it's a sequel, it's a genre-defining one worthy of a 9 - maybe even a 10 IMO.

    What do you think?

      WOW!

      It's totally amazing.

Just got to the bit in the village when the police officer is being burnt on the fire. Tried to sneak my way around, got spotted. When the villager shouted out I jumped! :P I then turn back and run, trying to find somewhere I can gain an advantage, I see an open door. So I run in and a nice cutscene starts up, it seems theres a lot more villagers then I thought. They put some ladders to get through the upstairs windows, so I run upstairs and see a Shotgun on the wall! I grab it and blow one of the ****ers away from the window. Thats when I hear it...the chainsaw.

"Oh ****..." I think, before I know it he's charging at me, I manage to knock him down with a shotgun blast, I do a 180 turn to waste the bleeders behind me, next thing I know, chainsaw dude is back up and I'm dead.

But I don't even care about my death as it was so ****ing fun, it's one of the most exhilarating experiences I've had in a game, and it's only the first 10 minutes!

      Back to it I go!

Another happy punter here, only managed to play an hour upto to yet but by what i played it fantastic stuff, the game hardly gives you time to take a breath. Graphically the game is unbelievable with tons of detail and atmosphere and the whole new action oriantated approach is a big welcome to the series and it nice not having to conserve ammo any more and let rip into them. But with Mikami behind this game did anyone have any doubts about it being anything other than brilliant?

Nope, proof positive if you want something done right, do it yourself.

I have absolutely no doubts what-so-ever that this will apply to Devil May Cry 3 as well.

Question for you guys, it says in the manual that you can combine treasures to make them more valuable but I cannot actually seem to combine anything so far, has anyone managed to achieve this or should i sell them to get money for gun upgrades?

            Comment

Only certain treasures that can be combined. Usually there's a little hint within the item description telling you that you can/ cannot combine.

I'm finishing work in 20 minutes then I get to play Resi4!!! Oh my, I really am looking forward to this now Shame people have already finished the game, but I suppose I can just be happy at the thought that everyone else knows what'll happen, and it'll be all new for me! Ace

General rule of thumb is, mostly all of the "cheap" treasure (not **** like Spinels because they're not marked as treasure on the treasure maps) can be combined with others for strengthened value.

Resident Evil 4:3 is now pissing me off ... the picture looks absolutely gash when zoomed in to even partially fill the screen (even in progressive scan mode) - this is a serious deal breaker for me and i am considering the long wait till the ps2 version (or even the xbox version if a certain website can be believed)

I only have a 4:3 TV in my room
Is the 4:3 mode really that bad? I may have to reconsider buying the game for now if its that bad

I hope to God there is an Xbox version of this that puts this right, it takes me back to the old PAL days when everything I played had huge borders all over the place. But this is far, far worse, I have to zoom the screen about 35% for it to be half decent and any benefit of pro-scan is completely lost. How can they make a game as graphically accomplished as this and yet not give it the viewing modes which are becoming standard for all modern day games? Ive said all this before anyways, so Ill shut up now.

Geezer, John means theres no widescreen support, with a 4:3 tv you will be as happy as a kitten with a ball of string.

We can't all afford a few plasmas dotted around our house Marcus.

Some of us make do with TVs and stuff and just get on with the game.

dunno what its like on a 4:3 screen but on a 16:9 (of a semi-large size) its ****ing horrendous .... talking borders top, bottom and both sides - so you are in essence playing in a postage stamp-esque area in the middle of the screen.

now considering that its adviseable to remove borders from the picture on a plasma (burn in can occur via the borders) and you are left with no option but to zoom the picture to (partially) fill the screen .... and it looks **** especially when considering the quality of other progressive scan gamecube titles

i am hoping that the borders become forgettable ... but the loss of image quality is just sickening when you look at the quality Capcom managed to push out of the GC .... now a Xbox version running in proscan should look nice as long as the borders are ****ed off
