Use the Rifle on him, when he comes for you the first time run into the top left corner, get the Shotgun shells and plant (I think) then when he gets close blast the red barrel he'll fall backwards then run right to the otherside and keep blasting his head with the rifle or any powerful weapon to get it done quicker.

Then second part, learn his movements and blast when you get a chance, remember there are herbs on the first floor, if you need them. If by some chance you get too close while he's swinging and you manage to knock him to the floor, use one of the grenades you find lying about.

That's how I beat him, mainly.

if you go up the ladder directly behind you when the fight starts and round to the left side. You can then hide behind the wooden structure there and you can actually shoot him through a hole in the wood and he can't touch you. I just sat there and let him have a ton of handgun shots. Then in his 2nd swinging about form I just stood to the left of the original ladder on the ground floor, in the far corner, and blasted him with the shotgun, he can't touch you there either.

Simple and worked for me...

In the end, I used a flash grenade and 2 normal grenades, which took alot of damage off him, then used the rifle from the top to shoot him from the other side to where he was.

Oh, and **** me, this game has just gone up to a WHOLE new level.

Just entered the castle, and the merchant has got some toys for me. Hehe. Sold my Shotgun, my Rifle, My Punisher. And now i've got the Riotgun, The Semi Automatic Rifle, and the new pisol. Can't think of the name. But they're all on some serious power. And they look the ****.

Love this game. It's seriously got me back into gaming, as before I was just pondering around on Live, didn't even want to play Metroid prime 2 or anything. Where as this is pulling me into play it. It's awesome.

My friend just bought this game, then he had to go away for a few days, so he has let me borrow it. I only have till tomorrow to try and finish it (Maybe not even that) so I?ve been playing it none stop today.

At first I really didn?t find it scary at all, stuff like

just seem to detract from the horror of it all, and made it seem more like a Zelda game. But then it got dark, and started raining? and

their eyes started glowing red and their heads started popping open

and it got scary again.

I've just got to 2-3, which is just after you get Ashley... think I will be able to finished this game by tomorrow?

My boy Yoshimax and the talk on this forum persuaded me into buying a GC today so could play this and OMG, was it the right decision. Have only just finished the first assault in the village, where the REsident Evil logo comes up after it. Loved hoe they used this to show you THAT was just a taster

Running between buildings and generally just trying to survive is awesome. Baricaded myself in one house, the broke in, I escapsed throught a window on the second floor and barricaded myself in another house. There was no other exits so I thought I was Fecked!! Held on long enough for the bell to chime and finally caught my breath. The AI in this is class and I aint even scratched the surface

An absolute belter of an opening and I think this game is gonna be fantastic!! A true survival game, killing them all aint good enough, if you dont move they will get you eventually RUN, AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

Also got Mario Kart double dash which is great fun... some 2 player all nighters on that will be had with my bro!!

Oh... almost forgot... how good is that FKN shotgun.... BOOM!! Dread to think what it be like after some tweaking... bring it on!!

tested out the pause/clock situation and

Pausing the game DOES stop the clock.
Leaving the game on the Map DOES NOT stop the clock.
Leaving the game on the Inventory DOES NOT stop the clock.

Fantastic game, only on 2-2 and very short on ammo and health ......

Hmm I dunno, I killed them all pretty much all the time til the music stopped. Although I quite like blasting the zombies with all sorts of weaponry (especially ones you can upgrade) I miss having to make my way through the game selectively killing only the zombies that are in my walking path in order to save ammo and stuff like that. I still need to have a crack at proffesional mode though so that might make up for it

This can be done but is boring. Using the game mechanices to the full, baricaded up doors, jumping through windos to escape an overrun room, these are things you should really use to enjoy this game more. Standing and just blasting away gets boring. Leading a pack into a house, jumping out a window then tossing in an Incendiary grenade is MUCH better d

I dont doubt killing them all can be done but I have bought right into being able to manipulate the enviroment to escape there clutches and am much happier for doing it, hehe!!

The final boss didn't really lend himself to soaking up bullets

the knife fight with Hauser thing = FANTASTIC

Overall it really reminds me of... Metal Gear Leon, perhaps? Less stealh, more zombies (of a sort)

Nah, I liked it. Most of my favourite games in my all time top10 have an

escape sequence

of some sort, be it Zelda OOT, Goldeneye, Halo, Lylat Wars or the Metroid games.
