Hi everyone. I have just registered with these forums because I have an important question about DMC 3. It's confirmed that Capcom have taken the infinite continues out for the American version, so I need to know how hard it is to buy a lot of yellow orbs. I know I'm going to get killed by the bosses many times, and there's no way I have the time and patience to do entire missions over and over just to get back to a boss fight. If I have to replay parts of missions thru Mission Select a bunch of times to get enough red orbs to buy a bunch of yellow orbs, then that's OK with me. So I want to know how much yellow orbs go for, and how much time it should take to build up a bunch of them.

Best Buy is selling DMC 3 for $39.99 if you are a Best Buy Reward Zone member, and that's really tempting me to buy DMC 3.

Yellow (or gold orbs as they now are) are incredibly rare - I think I found two in the whole game, and very expensive to buy. This could change in the US version though.

****, after dropping infinte continues they better have changed that or I'm not getting the game. Even if it's 10 bucks off. Replaying whole levels just for the privilege of fighting the boss again drives me crazy.

        Thanks for the info.

Maybe I should just get the Japanese version for US $60 from lik-sang.

Replaying levels isn't as bad as it sounds. In fact in 64 hours I've only finished the game once because I've been replaying the levels so much 8)

I don't mind replaying parts of the levels to get red orbs and experience and to get better at the game. I just can't bear the thought of having to replay levels over and over when all I want to do is fight the boss until I beat it. So I'm desperate to hear what the gold orb situation is in the American version of DMC 3 on Normal difficulty.

For some reason I thought a Japanese game would play on my un-modified American PS2, but it was just the PS1 where that was the case because games came on CDs and not DVDs, right?

He's right. After finishing the game in normal, hard and DMC mode...I've only come across a grand total of...2 gold(or yellow) orbs. Both of them found on my first go in normal too.

All the boss battles are quite 'easy' (even in DMC) once u 'understand' them. Of coz, throw in the occasional mistakes or impatientness...things might not go your way. But it's not 'that' bad. heh. If anything, I died a hell lot during my first try in normal!!!

note: easy in the sense, well...I suppose the proper word is comfortable. It's really liike meeting someone new and becoming friends etc.

              Saurian : chill out.

Anyway, I'm off to join that special 200k club in RE4!!! Those cats are too cool!

                Saurian doesn't like people complaining.

Speaking of which, the gamespot review is up. The dude spends the first of three pages whining about how hard it is - or rather how crap he is at it.

He's no "semi-decent" player, judging by the way he plays it.

How do I mount downed enemies? I guess I could try to descipher the Jap manual, but ... naw. I'll just ask instead. Is it as simple as jumping on top of someone once I've got them lying down?

Bwhahahah .. i just watched the video review, the guy is a muppet. It took him 2 days to get off level 2.

He talks as if its all about dodging out of the way, and states its learning curve is to steep. He also says that you should just use trickster as its the best as you always need to dodge, and to make sure you dies as many time as possable to unlock easy mode as the game is just too hard. He states he got his ass handed to him more than once during his time with the game.. I bet he did .. his flat mate was hanging out the back of him i bet .. which is why he found it so hard to complete.. The guy is a total dork.. I have a sneaky suspision he only finished it the once and only for the review... The dude knows nothing about Dante..

At least he got it in the end that its all about combo's. even though he's bigger muppet than kirmit

The GameSpot review consits of two things:

"Its too hard, it is a great game but it is too hard"

                              Well boo-****ing-hoo you twatting muppets!

                              Jesus...

                                Oh yeah and another message:

Devil May Cry 3 > Resident Evil 4

Different games perhaps, but the gameplay has more 'point' to it than RE4. I personally thing DMC3 is better than the original. The locations and maturity of Dante was slighty better in DMC, but the gameplay works like a dream on crack.
