It does the same thing; for example, if you hit an SS-combo, then taunt, the gauge will jump to SSS.

Ah right, it boosts the style gauge this time. I didn't know that - cheers!

This game is AMAZING!! i totally love it....i didn't expect it to be as good as it is. It's so much all about the combat...I'm also completly adicted to repeat playing the first room over and over getting more red orbs to upgrade my stuff.

        I'm a little stuck however....

the electric bat bitch that i guess must be Nevan is destroying me. She be well hard.... got her down to little health then she sucked out all my health with a kiss....well annoyed. need more practise but any tips would be welcome.
I think i keep screwing it up cuz i want the guitar weapon so bad i can't concentrate props.

Capcom have returned as the true master of everything.

          Don -

Equip Agni & Rudra as well as E&I for the Nevan battle. During Nevan's final attack, which is the "Kiss", wait till she stops and the glow surrounding her, disappears, since this presents a small window to launch an attack.

Beyond that, closely watch how her attacks work. It's a tough battle, took me a good hour to beat her.

Nevan weapon pwns so much I want to cry! T_T -

It's all about learning her phrases aswell, each taunt is a different attack; couple of them I remember -

"Now you'll become tired" - white light attack vertically rising from the floor, tracks you as you move so keep moving.

"Get ready" - circular attack you cant avoid once you're in it so dont be anywhere near hear if she says this.

"How's this?" - homing orb attack? (with this one you can roll into Nevan to avoid it and get a few strikes in)

Once you know what's what concentrate on getting close to her and using very strong attacks such as Rebellion standard 3-hit to wear down her bat shield she's levitating on. When you break it she collapses into a pool of darkness, buss Devil Trigger and let her have it with the standard 3-hit (it's stronger than Million Stab and can be repeated without delay). She'll start drawing her shield back as soon as you get this attack chance so be ready to break off early by jumping or rolling out of the way on the audio cue and release Devil trigger.

When she retreats to the middle of the stage and glows white, jump up and hover with the guns (any style) or O button/slash cancels (if Swordmaster).
Her series of electric walls she throws at you do track your position so moving along at a steady pace while avoiding them so that she cant bog you down with it.

When she gets down to about 1/3 energy she'll appear in the middle of the room looking rather smaller than usual. She'll grab you and try to drain your life and add it to her own. If she grabs you, use DT and thrash her ass.

Got the US version from tronix this morning. Love the game to bits so far I?m just playing the first level over and over again until I?ve got the hang of things yes the games tough but I don't care I like a challenge. For those concerned yellow orbs start at 1000 red orbs but go up in price and max out at 3000 red orbs so getting the cash for them is easy.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'm very glad i got the jap version. One thing i didn't like in DMC1 was the fact you had finite lives and the infinite continues of DMC3 is most welcome. adds to the fun of fighting and learning the Boss atack paterns as you can aford to use trial and error tactics.

I am also finding DMC3 normal mode a lot harder than DMC1 normal.
                  I'm enjoying it very much.

                    Got a couple things here;

                    Clip
There's no limit to the number of times you can jump off an enemy, so it's all about staying up in the air! XD

                    Clip
Nevan isnt that sick on it's own, but if you buss it by cancelling off other things so you dont get a delay it's proper ridiculous!

Yeah! You make that ridiculous electric-bat guitar look like poetry in motion.

                      Sir: I am in awe.

Finally got hold of the Japanese ver of this and loving it so far.
This may sound like a bit of a silly question but how can you save the option settings. Its a pain having to go into the options to set the lang to English every time I boot up the game and can't seem to find a way to save the settings.

The simple answer... is that you can't.

Just recieved the US version today and must say I'm absolutely loving it, despite getting my arse well and truely whooped . I've never played the second game of the series so I can't really say if it's a big improvement or a return to form, to me it just feels like the first one albiet smoother and a lot harder. Good stuff indeed .
